Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP)
Sovereign Consulting Inc. is seeking a full-time Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) in New Jersey with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Sovereign Consulting Inc. is an environmental consulting and remediation firm headquartered in Robbinsville, NJ.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates ability to assess client needs, make recommendations, and manage/grow remediation services
Ability to mentor and assist in the professional development of junior staff
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Supervision and guidance of staff level positions & responsibilities
Assist with technical report preparation including regulatory permits and reports, remedy selection decision documents, system performance reviews, specification and bid documents and other engineering related proposals
Ability to work in a team environment
Management of multiple projects involving hydrogeologic and remediation investigations
Analysis of site data to make decisions regarding site progression
Indoor air-quality evaluations and other exposure pathway and risk evaluations
Evaluation and comparison of site-specific data to cleanup standards
Preparation and/or certification of regulatory and client-specific reports
Implementation and evaluation of monitored natural attenuation and natural source zone depletion is beneficial but not required
Oversight of a project team and dissemination of client program requirements
Primary contact with Client for specific states within an area portfolio
Handle other related duties assigned
Adherence to Sovereign Consulting Inc. health and safety procedures in all field related activities
Requirements:
10 years of experience in environmental remediation services
Must possess a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) license and be in good standing. At least 5 years of experience as an LSRP is preferred
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, civil engineering, chemical engineering or other related field. Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental, engineering, geology or hydrogeology is preferred
Detailed knowledge of regulations and guidance associated with site remediation in New Jersey, including the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA), the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated sites (ARRCS), the Technical Requirements for Site Remediation (TRSR), and the New Jersey Spill Act.
Hybrid and remote work situations are available, with the understanding that reporting to an office setting or field setting will be required at times
Demonstrates technical writing
Proficient in Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC)
Ability to evaluate and determine competency levels of staff and delegate work appropriately
Experience with NJ DEP Regulations
Experience with New Jersey cleanup reimbursement fund a plus
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification and current 8- hour refresher preferred
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications
Must have excellent communication and analytical skills
Projectmanagement experience preferred
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for local and regional travel to sites, offices, and clients, on an as-needed basis.

Job Requirements:

BS/MS in Geology, Environmental Engineering, or similar major
Minimum 10 years' experience completing environmental investigation and remediation projects in Connecticut
Demonstrated success in planning, developing, and executing field investigation/remedial strategies for pollutants in various geologic settings
Experience with CT Remediation Standard Regulations and EPA Brownfields programs
Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in MS Office products
Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
Self-motivated, energetic professional
Previous experience managing and/or directing staff preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

* Initiates projects by developing proposals/scopes of work and project budgets for approval by the Principal. For assigned projects, completes project initiation documents that includes detailed scope/outline, budget, and schedule for completion.
* Supervises and directs individuals or teams of technical staff on projects and assists in the training and technical development of staff by holding training seminars, providing technical guidance during project execution, and bringing new technical developments in-house.
* Consults with other technical staff and ProjectManagers on technical challenges in the drinking water discipline while also providing independent technical reviews on projects for other water discipline leaders.
* Oversees the technical accuracy of project through regular communications with project staff, review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with the firm's standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
Managesproject implementation with assigned project team and follows all company policies and operating procedures. This includes keeping the client informed of the on-going status of a project and providing adequate management, advice, and support to the members of the project team
Initiates projects by developing proposals/scopes of work and project budgets for approval by the Principal. For assigned projects, completes project initiation documents that includes detailed scope/outline, budget, and schedule for completion.
Supervises and directs individuals or teams of technical staff on projects and assists in the training and technical development of staff by holding training seminars, providing technical guidance during project execution, and bringing new technical developments in-house.
Consults with other technical staff and ProjectManagers on technical challenges in the wastewater water discipline while also providing independent technical reviews on projects for other wastewater discipline leaders.
Oversees the technical accuracy of project through regular communications with project staff, review of plans, specifications, reports, and calculations to ensure compliance with the firm's standards.
Tracks all projects costs, including labor and expenses, versus the project, and ensures that invoices are issued to the client in a timely manner in accordance with company policy.
Other tasks may include proposal preparation, participating in project interviews, attending public meetings, developing fee proposals, preparing contracts and presenting information to new and future potential clients
What we're looking for:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and 9+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility, or a master's degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of related experience.
Registered Professional Engineer or other Professional Registrations as appropriate for their primary field of expertise in State(s) where Apex does work or ability to obtain same by reciprocity.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients, staff, subconsultants and contractors through effective leadership, and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of state and federal regulatory framework and experience interacting with regulators in the local and technical areas where Apex does work.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong desire to manage and mentor junior staff.
Valid driver's license is required.

The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned geologist/hydrogeologist or environmental consulting professional with the motivation and desire to foster technical excellence and strong client relationships.
As a ProjectManager, you will work with a staff of interrelated professionals dedicated to providing high-level expertise on complex remediation projects above, below and at ground-level. You will successfully execute all aspects of projects under a Senior ProjectManager or directly with the Principal in-charge. You will also represent GZA with the client throughout proposal, contract, and project performance phases; will be responsible for day-to-day execution of technical and financial aspects of each project; will be involved with marketing activities and networking events; and will be involved with the development and mentoring of staff. Our ProjectManagers have ownership opportunities with the firm, participate in profit sharing, and the potential for advancement to Principal.
Key Responsibilities:
Managingproject team(s), delegating to office and field staff, and executing day to day activities of projects
Conducting internal and client communications
Monitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
Providing business development support
Preparing proposals and reviewing/writing environmental reports with Principal guidance and review

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Engineering focusing on core geologic and hydrogeologic sciences (Master's Degree is a plus)
Water supply studies and groundwater modeling experience a plus
Experience at consulting engineering firms and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations throughout Connecticut (experience in adjacent states is a plus)
Experience with design and management of environmental remediation projects
Manufactured Gas Plant investigation / remediation experience a plus
Construction bid specification experience a plus
Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
Demonstrate professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high-quality work products
Demonstrate performance of independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
