Software Developer in Test
Sovrn Holdings job in Boulder, CO
We spend a great deal of our time online. Whether it's for information, commerce, or entertainment, each of us has come to depend on what we research, discover, and share. Publishers - those who create and curate content - are what makes the Internet great. Yet these publishers practice their craft largely alone, in siloes - without reference points or insightful understanding about where they sit in the grand scheme of things.
To add to the challenge, once a Publisher's content is in the wild, then the task of building engagement, growing a loyal following and enriching the engagement with that following can sometimes feel like shots in the dark or worse, a black box.
Moreover, making money from their craft can be a complex task for any independent publisher who might prioritize generating content first and money second.
Sovrn believes that independent publishers are the Internet's vibrancy.
As a partner and advocate to tens of thousands of independent publishers, Sovrn provides tools, technologies and services that help publishers (a) make money; (b) get distribution to grow their audience; and (c) access a massive data commons providing extraordinary insights.
The landscape of content networks, adtech vendors, and the myriad of buy-side / sell-side companies can be a complete maze for any reasonable person to decipher.
Sovrn cuts through the noise and simplifies things with a basic, straightforward mission:
Help content creators do more of what they want to do - and less of what they don't.

Staff Product Manager, Infrastructure and System Security
Denver, CO job

We are proud of the culture we have built. We value the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings to The Trade Desk, and we are committed to fostering inclusive spaces where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work every day.
So, if you are talented, driven, creative, and eager to join a dynamic, globally-connected team, then we want to talk!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We're seeking a driven, staff-level Product Manager who thrives in ambiguity, learns quickly, and brings humility to complex problem spaces-especially those at the intersection of infrastructure, security, and scale. This role sits at the heart of our efforts to build secure, resilient systems that protect our platform, users, and data across a rapidly evolving threat landscape. The ideal candidate is a technically fluent, systems-minded collaborator who understands how foundational infrastructure and security capabilities enable the broader mission of building a trusted, high-performance Trade Desk platform.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As a Staff Product Manager in Infrastructure and System Security, you will lead the development of resilient, scalable platforms that safeguard critical systems, network and data across our global ecosystem. You'll define the vision and roadmap for security infrastructure-partnering closely with engineering, our cyber security team, and compliance teams to deliver robust solutions that protect against evolving risks while enabling business agility.
Your work will shape how we architect secure-by-design systems, enforce zero-trust principles, and ensure operational continuity across cloud and on-prem environments. From identity and access management to encryption, monitoring, and incident response tooling, you'll drive initiatives that fortify our defenses and earn stakeholder trust.
This role demands deep collaboration with internal teams and external partners to understand threat landscapes, regulatory requirements, and enterprise risk profiles. You'll translate complex security and infrastructure needs into actionable product strategies-balancing technical rigor with usability and performance.
Success in this role means delivering systems that are not only technically sound and compliant, but also foundational to our ability to scale securely, respond swiftly, and operate with confidence in a high-stakes environment.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
* 7+ years of Product Management experience, ideally in infrastructure, security, or platform domains.
* Product Strategy & Vision: Ability to define and drive long-term roadmaps for secure, scalable systems that support enterprise-grade reliability and protection.
* Security & Infrastructure Expertise: Familiarity with system architecture, threat modeling, identity and access management, and secure deployment practices.
* Stakeholder-Centric Mindset: Experience partnering with internal teams (engineering, IT, compliance) and external vendors to understand infrastructure and security needs, translating them into impactful product capabilities.
* Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to lead and influence across engineering, security operations, compliance, and go-to-market teams.
* Data Fluency: Comfortable interpreting telemetry, audit logs, and performance metrics to inform product decisions and improve system observability.
* Scalable Systems Thinking: Experience designing and evolving infrastructure that supports high availability, fault tolerance, and secure multi-tenant environments.
* Strong Communication Skills: Capable of translating technical and security concepts into clear, actionable narratives for executives, engineers, and cross-functional partners.
* Bias for Action: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, making trade-offs, and driving progress in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
* Passion for Impact: You care deeply about building systems that are not only technically sound but also trusted and relied upon by users and stakeholders.
* Grit & Iterative Problem-Solving: You embrace complexity, test multiple approaches, and persist until you find the right solution-especially when the stakes are high.

Sr. Software Engineer (Sovrn Labs)
Job Description
Sovrn Labs team is a small group within the company that focuses on building products beyond traditional ad tech. In 2017, we will be investing heavily in a new product that we believe will help hundreds of thousands of independent websites stay independent.
As a Software Engineer within Sovrn Labs you will be tasked with architecting, coding and researching a solution to a serious publisher problem. We have a pilot program launching in early 2017 and need you to help us move beyond that stage. Day to day you'll be working on building out our highly scalable platform using NodeJS and Express, with an AngularJS UI. You'll embrace our lean approach to develop products and build, test, and iterate in weekly development cycles.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an engineer with a strong entrepreneurial mindset who is able to understand opportunities in a market and work with product managers, and senior leadership to build products that meet a market need. They should self-motivated, able to work on small team with minimal supervision, and have a history of delivering high-quality code from ideation through QA. Ideal candidates include former founding members of start-ups and or developers that have have lead the development of new products.
If you don't already have a strong ad-tech or publishing background you'll need to be comfortable learning a new industry and spending a significant amount of your time becoming an expert on its future. If you have a strong background in ad tech - that's great, but you'll need to start thinking about problems a little differently.

Sage Soronen
Staff Product Manager, Developer Platform
Denver, CO job
The Trade Desk is changing the way global brands and their agencies advertise to audiences around the world. How? With a media buying platform that helps brands deliver a more insightful and relevant ad experience for consumers -- and sets a new standard for global reach, accuracy, and transparency.
THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR EVERYONE: This is a highly technical Product Management role where you'll spend your days embedded with senior engineers, reviewing CI/CD pipelines, analyzing build times, mapping out complex dependency chains, and optimizing developer workflows. If you can't confidently discuss git merge strategies, explain the trade-offs between monorepos and multi-repos, or understand what happens between "git push" and code running in production, this role will be extremely challenging.
Our mission is to build the internal developer platform that powers The Trade Desk's engineering organization. We own the tools, workflows, and infrastructure that our developers interact with hundreds of times per day-from the moment they check out a repo to when they ship code to production and perform ongoing experiments.
We're looking for a technical Product Manager who has shipped products TO developers, not just products WITH developers. You should get excited about reducing build times by 30%, streamlining the code review process, or reimagining our local development environment. Your customers are senior engineers who will quickly lose patience if you don't understand their world.
The Trade Desk Product Team hires courageous, passionate PMs who set big goals and execute them. We help you grow and challenge you with hard, meaningful work. We celebrate our successes and learn from our failures together. We value and develop strong leadership, asking our PMs to take on ambitious and often ambiguous projects that promise to extend our lead in the industry.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Our teams own the software development life cycle at The Trade Desk - from the first day of a new developer, to the first discussions about a feature, to coding and debugging, through deployment into our global data centers, and all the way to A/B Testing and Experimentation. Our goal is to build tools, frameworks, automation, and processes that help our developers focus their time on delivering customer value.
You will roll up your sleeves and dive deep into the problems our developers face every day. This means shadowing engineers through their entire workflow, analyzing bottlenecks in our build pipeline, investigating why code reviews are taking too long, and understanding the friction points in our deployment process. From this hands-on research, you'll synthesize insights into a north star vision and strategic roadmap for our developer experience.
On a typical day, you might:
* Shadow a developer through their entire workflow to identify friction points
* Analyze metrics showing a 20% increase in build failures and work with platform engineers to diagnose root causes
* Facilitate a technical deep-dive with senior engineers on container startup times
* Write a technical specification for improving our local development environment
* Review user research showing developers are context-switching 47 times per day and design solutions to reduce interruptions
* Present a monthly roadmap to engineering leadership, articulating technical trade-offs and timelines
Your responsibilities include:
* Understanding the needs of our Trade Desk Engineering Team through direct engagement, user research, and data analysis
* Defining our developer experience (DX) strategy and building the roadmap to get there
* Owning key areas such as: local developer environment setup, source control workflows (checkout, build, merge), code review processes, cross-team code stewardship, and deployment automation
* Establishing the right metrics that measure developer productivity, satisfaction, and velocity-then using those metrics to drive data-driven decisions
* Partnering closely with engineering, platform teams, and other stakeholders to deliver high-impact improvements to our SDLC
* Evaluating emerging technologies (including AI-assisted coding tools) and determining if/when they should be integrated into our workflows
This is a strategic role within the Trade Desk Development Platform organization where you will be leading deeply technical projects and providing hands-on leadership in a complex, fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:REQUIRED:
* 7+ years of Product Management experience shipping developer tools, platforms, or infrastructure products at enterprise scale
* Proven track record shipping products where software engineers are your primary customers - not business users, not external consumers, but developers
* Deep working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): You can articulate the challenges and best practices across local development, source control, CI/CD, code review, testing, deployment, and monitoring
* Experience conducting technical discovery directly with engineering teams - you don't need engineers to translate for you; you can hold technical conversations with Staff and Principal engineers
* Demonstrated "working backwards" from internal customers to build long-term strategies and solutions that measurably improve developer productivity
* Proven track record of partnering with engineering teams to solve complex, technical problems and delivering large, impactful software projects with measurable business outcomes (e.g., "reduced deployment time by 40%," "decreased build failures by 25%")
* Excellent communication skills: You can participate confidently in very technical conversations, drive consensus and commitment across teams, and crisply communicate delivery timelines, trade-offs, and risks to senior management
STRONGLY PREFERRED:
* Background in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Developer Productivity, or Developer Experience organizations
* Experience with metrics-driven optimization of developer workflows (build time reduction, deployment frequency, change failure rate, etc.)
* Hands-on familiarity with modern development tools and workflows: IDEs, source code repositories (Git/GitHub), build systems, containerization, deployment frameworks
* Understanding of AI tooling in developer workflows (GitHub Copilot, cursor.ai, MCP servers, agent frameworks) and how they impact the SDLC
* Durability and grit - sometimes solutions take creative thinking, multiple iterations, and staging while dependencies solidify. You try many different approaches to find the right answer
* Enthusiasm for all things developer tools, DevOps, emerging technologies, and a desire to stay on top of industry trends
