ELECTRICIAN - LEVEL 4/5 As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate, and maintain some of the world's most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. The position is based in Hawthorne, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems in peak operating condition, and to develop/update detailed work instructions for proper equipment preventative maintenance dedicated to ensuring zero unplanned interruption in services to employees and customers Install, maintain and repair electrical support equipment on facilities systems including medium to low voltage transformers, panels, substations, switch gear, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Sag correctors, automatic transfer switches, generators, and fly wheels Perform electrical modifications, install electrical wiring and components to design and code specifications Perform failure assessments and day-to-day safety inspections - making recommendations to the supervisor as required Perform hands-on shop work and/or on-site disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, troubleshooting, reassembly, and testing of electrical equipment Present information on equipment maintenance statuses for all critical facilities as required for internal and external customers Open, track and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX systems Follow and ensure site compliance with all applicable SpaceX, local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and laws Troubleshoot new and existing electrical systems, including new and existing machinery Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability, phase rotation and conductivity Operation of test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, meggers and circuit tracers Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED or equivalent certificate 5+ years of professional experience in commercial equipment wiring, maintenance, and repair PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Fire systems knowledge with NICET certification Journeyman or master electrician license Demonstrated skill in practicing safety requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards when working with hazardous energy, heavy loads, and when working overhead Experience with 480/277 volt and 208/120 volt systems Ability to use a variety of electrician's hand tools including Sawzall, conduit bender, wire-tugger, hand/hydraulic punch, spade lug crimper, clamp on current, meter multi-meter and other measuring and testing instruments Ability to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices and controls Ability to use a variety of electrician's hand tools as well as measuring and testing instruments Demonstrable knowledge and/or understanding of codes, rules, regulations and standards of electrical equipment Ability to read and understand technical manuals and reports Familiar with commercial building codes Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to generate service reports and communicate within the company including skills to navigate web-based service literature and programs Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, pallet jack, boom lift, work truck, and overhead crane ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted First shift hours: 5 AM - 3:30 PM PST Work hours depend on site priorities and may require extended hours, weekends and holidays; flexibility required Periodic work in extreme outdoor environments: heat, cold, wind, rain Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position Able to work at elevated heights (up to 150 feet), including the use of ladder Possesses a good attitude, willingness to learn, flexibility, and is a self-starter Demonstrates a consistent record of punctual schedule adherence Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction Valid CA driver's license COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Pay range: Electrician /Level 4: $38.00 - $48.00/hour Electrician /Level 5: $43.00 - $57.00/hour Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. About This Role: As a Journeyman Electrician with Crusoe's Abilene Texas operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and safe operation of medium voltage (480V and above, including 13.8kV and 34.5kV) electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment. Normal activities include safely isolating and racking in medium voltage equipment. You will work with blueprints and technical documentation to understand system designs, troubleshoot electrical problems, and develop effective solutions. Switchgear & Transformers Support: Supporting 3rd party vendors during switchgear device calibration, testing, or repair of facility equipment. Plant Equipment Operation and Testing Support: Assisting in the operation and testing of facility equipment. Equipment Inspection & Data Collection: Making regular inspections of all MCC and Medium Voltage equipment to obtain and record data in support of plant reliability efforts. Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures, blueprints, electrical schematics, service manuals, and work orders to perform required installation, maintenance, and service. Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that you follow all safety requirements and OSHA guidelines while you work. Process Improvement: Continuously looking to standardize practices and methods to be the most efficient and effective. What You'll Bring to the Team: Education: High school diploma or GED. Technical Skills: Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician with previous experience working on medium voltage equipment. Soft Skills: Must be detail-oriented. Must be a team player willing to take on additional roles as needed. Have a good attitude and willingness to learn. Strong analytical ability and willingness to accept and learn from feedback. Physical Requirements: Requires lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling all sizes of merchandise up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, & bend for 8 hours or more daily. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back. Safety and Compliance: This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Job Summary The Electrician ensures the integrity and reliability of the facilities electrical and control systems in the Maintenance department. Duties and Responsibilities Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts. Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs, must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether business can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last. Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls Performs electrical maintenance and repair work; install/replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring. Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis Maintains records and logs as needed Keep up to date documentation. Log work into a CMMS system to ensure equipment maintenance work is recorded Perform other various tasks as instructed by management.
