As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate, and maintain some of the world's most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with engineers, managers, and customers to maintain systems in peak operating condition, and to develop/update detailed work instructions for proper equipment preventative maintenance dedicated to ensuring zero unplanned interruption in services to employees and customers
Install, maintain and repair electrical support equipment on facilities systems including medium to low voltage transformers, panels, substations, switch gear, Uninterrupted Power Supplies, Sag correctors, automatic transfer switches, generators, and fly wheels
Perform electrical modifications, install electrical wiring and components to design and code specifications
Perform failure assessments and day-to-day safety inspections - making recommendations to the supervisor as required
Perform hands-on shop work and/or on-site disassembly, inspection, reporting, cleaning, troubleshooting, reassembly, and testing of electrical equipment
Present information on equipment maintenance statuses for all critical facilities as required for internal and external customers
Open, track and resolve electronic work tickets on SpaceX systems
Follow and ensure site compliance with all applicable SpaceX, local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and laws
Troubleshoot new and existing electrical systems, including new and existing machinery
Perform work from instructions using blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Test electrical circuits to ensure their operability, phase rotation and conductivity
Operation of test equipment like volt/ohmmeters, meggers and circuit tracers
Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED or equivalent certificate
5+ years of professional experience in commercial equipment wiring, maintenance, and repair
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Fire systems knowledge with NICET certification
Journeyman or master electrician license
Demonstrated skill in practicing safety requirements and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards when working with hazardous energy, heavy loads, and when working overhead
Experience with 480/277 volt and 208/120 volt systems
Ability to use a variety of electrician's hand tools including Sawzall, conduit bender, wire-tugger, hand/hydraulic punch, spade lug crimper, clamp on current, meter multi-meter and other measuring and testing instruments
Ability to test, calibrate, diagnose, and repair various devices and controls

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Overview

About You and The Role
As the Electrician and Electrical Coordinator, you will have the important responsibility of serving as the point of contact for all electrical site infrastructure including upgrades, repairs, maintenance activities, renovations, and vendor oversight at Zipline's flight test locations. You will be based out of Zipline's primary test facility, but support several other small scale test locations through the Northern California region with intermittent travel to other sites.
You will be performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works personally in accordance with all relevant standards and codes, and manage subcontractors performing similar works ensuring a high standard for quality, cost and workmanship. Additionally you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and recommend necessary improvements. You will be a key partner working directly with the relevant internal engineering teams and will have a mandate to provide feedback on the electrical approaches Zipline uses. You will also be responsible for general ownership of the electrical infrastructure at our test sites; maintaining up to date electrical single line diagrams and as-built documentation, owning the general electrical operations and safety processes, and associated internal workflows. Your work will directly affect Zipline's ability to improve and expand our service to people and communities across the world.
This is an in-person role, servicing our testing facilities in Esparto, South San Francisco, and occasionally in Half Moon Bay, California. This role is well suited to an experienced Journeyman / Journeywoman who still wants to make a hands-on contribution but is looking for more opportunities to expand their skill set, manage contractors and generally increase their organizational impact.
What You'll Do
Performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works personally in accordance with all relevant standards and codes
Manage subcontractors performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works ensuring a high standard for quality, cost and workmanship.
Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance activities, repairs, and renovations at Zipline testing facilities. Most work on the site is performed outdoors in whatever seasonal weather is occurring at the time. This includes anywhere from a well-developed test site, to a rugged unimproved area requiring off-road vehicles and hiking on steep terrain.
Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and maintenance staff to address electrical related issues promptly ensuring quality delivered service.
Brainstorm and execute site expansion projects such as the construction of mock buildings and backyards, test support buildings, observation towers, and expansion of utilities on-site with ownership of the electrical components of such projects.
Coordinate site safety reviews and activities for the Facilities Team.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, including service contracts, warranties, and inspection reports.
Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and recommend necessary improvements.
Communicate with teams to understand their evolving needs and space requirements while proposing strategic solutions.

Electrical trades background licensed in the state of California.

As the Electrician and Electrical Coordinator, you will have the important responsibility of serving as the point of contact for all electrical site infrastructure including upgrades, repairs, maintenance activities, renovations, and vendor oversight at Zipline's flight test locations. You will be based out of Zipline's primary test facility, but support several other small scale test locations through the Northern California region with intermittent travel to other sites.
You will be performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works personally in accordance with all relevant standards and codes, and manage subcontractors performing similar works ensuring a high standard for quality, cost and workmanship. Additionally you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and recommend necessary improvements. You will be a key partner working directly with the relevant internal engineering teams and will have a mandate to provide feedback on the electrical approaches Zipline uses. You will also be responsible for general ownership of the electrical infrastructure at our test sites; maintaining up to date electrical single line diagrams and as-built documentation, owning the general electrical operations and safety processes, and associated internal workflows. Your work will directly affect Zipline's ability to improve and expand our service to people and communities across the world.
This is an in-person role, servicing our testing facilities in Esparto, South San Francisco, and occasionally in Half Moon Bay, California. This role is well suited to an experienced Journeyman / Journeywoman who still wants to make a hands-on contribution but is looking for more opportunities to expand their skill set, manage contractors and generally increase their organizational impact.
What You'll Do
* Performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works personally in accordance with all relevant standards and codes
* Manage subcontractors performing electrical installation, construction and upgrade works ensuring a high standard for quality, cost and workmanship.
* Coordinate and schedule routine maintenance activities, repairs, and renovations at Zipline testing facilities. Most work on the site is performed outdoors in whatever seasonal weather is occurring at the time. This includes anywhere from a well-developed test site, to a rugged unimproved area requiring off-road vehicles and hiking on steep terrain.
* Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and maintenance staff to address electrical related issues promptly ensuring quality delivered service.
* Brainstorm and execute site expansion projects such as the construction of mock buildings and backyards, test support buildings, observation towers, and expansion of utilities on-site with ownership of the electrical components of such projects.
* Coordinate site safety reviews and activities for the Facilities Team.
* Maintain records of maintenance activities, including service contracts, warranties, and inspection reports.
* Conduct regular inspections to identify potential maintenance needs and recommend necessary improvements.
* Communicate with teams to understand their evolving needs and space requirements while proposing strategic solutions.
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
What You'll Bring
* Electrical trades background licensed in the state of California.
* Proven experience in general construction, construction management, facilities management, or a similar role.
* Experience with electrical construction and SLD tools and CAD programs such as Bluebeam. Comfortability with standard spreadsheet and word processing tools.

What Else You Need to Know
The starting cash range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact. Responsibilities
What Will I Do?
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems accurately and efficiently
Perform repairs consistent with and exceeding National Electrical Code standards
Increase customer loyalty by maintaining a clean working area
Educating and offering the customer appropriate upgrades that you can complete immediately or at scheduled time
Accurately estimate and invoice repairs and projects
Document work completed with before and after photos
Demonstrate Safe working practices and methods
Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers
Qualifications
Do I have What it Takes?
Current TDLR Journeyman or Residential Wireman License
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas Drivers license (5 years driving experience with a clean driving record)
Must pass background check and drug screen
Minimum of 3 years residential service, electrical wiring, repair and troubleshooting all aspects of the Electrical System
Ability to read blueprints, run conduits, wire and terminate devices, perform quality control testing, and troubleshooting
Working knowledge of installing electrical systems in a new and existing setting
Service Titan experience preferred.
Detail oriented with good time management skills
Can lift, carry, and maneuver a minimum of 75 pounds without additional manpower or appropriate device
Must be able to work in the outside elements of heat and cold safely and on ladders and/or roofs medium to high heights
Maintain well-groomed appearance and keep a clean uniform and work shoes

* Coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical services. Performs specialized activities including coordinating electrical renovations and performing high voltage electrical work.
* Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, schematic drawings, and specifications ensuring concealed wiring is installed before sketches showing wiring equipment location.
* Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components; observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation and/or replacement.
* Prepares estimates of time, labor, and materials. Prepares reports reflecting daily operations and project status.
* Operates and maintains tools and equipment of the electrical trade. Cleans work area upon completion of project.
* Provides guidance and training in high voltage electrical work to other maintenance personnel. May have lead responsibility for special projects.
* Four years progressively responsible experience in the electrical trade, two years of which must have been in the installation and repair of high tension (13,000 volts and up) service switch gear and controlling wiring, or motors and motor circuitry of 30 horsepower or more.
* Preferred but not required - Master's electrician license.
* CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates selected for employment may be subject to medical inquiries and/or medical examinations to determine ability to perform the job. Valid Maryland Non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license is required. Candidates selected for employment may be required to be trained to work with asbestos.
