What you'll do at Jamf:
The German Linguist actively enables Agile development and continuous delivery of translated technical content for Jamf Technical Communications and other technical content publishers throughout Jamf. As a member of the Technical Communications team, the German Linguist/Localization Language Specialist will focus on the tactical requirements needed to support Jamf product localization initiatives and improve the international user experience.
What you can expect to do in this role:
Translate, revise, and proofread complex technical documents, software applications, and marketing/sales initiatives across all of the Jamf product lines, specializing in German
Collaborate with product localization peers and vendors to produce error-free translated documentation and UI text and ensure that the quality of materials meets the enterprise standard
Maintain and improve the translation memory, glossary, and style guide files to increase product localization process efficiencies
Demonstrate knowledge of SEO and content marketing principles for multilingual content
Edit grammar, punctuation, style, and language-specific slang in the language of expertise
Translate concept expressions and intent markers from English (US) to target language
Ensure that content translated from English (US) effectively conveys original meaning in a manner that is readable and understandable in the target language and mindful of cultural differences
Work with localization service providers (LSPs) and in-country reviewers (ICRs) to ensure projects capture brand voice and meet quality standards
Leverage linguistic expertise to evaluate, fine-tune, and improve the quality of Large Language Model (LLM) and Machine Translation (MT) systems through data annotation, error analysis, and targeted training
Track, prioritize, and resolve product localization defects
Identify and implement process improvements
Continuously broaden knowledge of the company and product initiatives
What we are looking for:
Ability to write in and translate into German on a native speaker level (Required)
Near native (C2) level proficiency in English (Required)
Minimum of 2 years of professional experience translating technical software content (Required)
Minimum of 1 year of Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tool experience (Required)
