Product Engineer - Gram (MCP Cloud Platform)
Speakeasy job in San Francisco, CA
Speakeasy is the best in class developer platform to build and deploy agent tools as hosted MCPs. Our goal is to enable AI builders wherever they are: join us to work early stages on our latest product, Gram. We started our journey by building tool chains for shipping and maintaining crafted SDKs for APIs but have since expanded our mandate to highly requested agentic tools and MCPs by launching our second product, Gram. We're rapidly hiring as a result of enterprise customers like LaunchDarkly, Fivetran, Verizon, and fast moving startups who are building and launching MCP tools and apps on Gram.
About Gram
Gram is how enterprises and fast moving startups connect their data to AI securely and at scale. The platform makes it easy to deploy code and connect APIs to create agentic tools, curate them into toolsets, and deploy them as hosted MCPs. These curated purpose-built MCP servers are used to power our customers' agents, coding agents and chat clients.
We build in the open (take a look at our Github) with customers ranging from 2 person startups to Fortune 500 companies.
About the Role
We've never hired for a role like this. This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to join a passionate team about making the developer experience an intuitive craft to enable solving abstract, hard problems.
You'll be working on an early product with a fast moving team that's done this before and collaborating with founders (and customers) directly on a daily basis. You might have experience architecting and scaling modern web infrastructure, crafting intuitive developer UIs , web services in Golang or building on open protocols like MCP … but most importantly really we're looking for strong generalists and product engineers who are driven about crafting developer experiences.
You're a good fit if...
You want to join a talent-dense team made up of ex-founders and domain experts across various developer tools, languages, and infrastructure (in fact over a quarter of the team).
Ownership excites you in the full lifecycle of development: building, shipping, running support and measuring impact.
You have a record of full agency in improving customer experiences and growing a company.
You have an exceptional ability to learn, pickup new frameworks, and can work across the stack from backend to frontend.

Emeryville, CA job
Job DescriptionAtomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital-but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device-made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform-that we will be unveiling to the world soon. Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.About The Role:
This isn't your typical recruiting role-it's dynamic, immersive, and deeply rewarding. We're building breakthrough technology that bridges multiple engineering disciplines: mechanical systems, hardware, AI, computer vision, process, design, production, and manufacturing. Every hire matters, and our standards are high-but they're fair, clearly defined, and rooted in first principles.
We're looking for a technically fluent recruiter who can engage confidently across domains-someone who can speak the language of engineers, understand how different disciplines intersect, and communicate the complexity and excitement of what we're building. You'll be embedded in the work: learning how our systems operate, and helping top engineering talent see the impact they can make here. We operate as one integrated team-collaboration, curiosity, and adaptability are key.
As a Technical Recruiter, you'll drive full-cycle recruiting for our core technical teams-spanning mechanical and electrical design, AI/ML and modeling, materials development, and production/manufacturing engineering. You'll partner closely with hiring managers and interviewers to execute high-quality searches, maintain strong candidate pipelines, and help build the multidisciplinary foundation of a company that's redefining how things are made.
This role may be based out of Emeryville, California, or hybrid.
What You'll Do:
Own full-cycle recruiting for roles across multiple engineering domains-mechanical, electrical, embedded systems, AI/ML, materials, and manufacturing-from kickoff through close.
Develop creative sourcing strategies that reach exceptional, often passive, technical talent from leading engineering and technology companies.
Collaborate with engineers to learn the technology, understand the challenges, and authentically communicate our mission to candidates.
Maintain clear, consistent communication to deliver a high-quality candidate experience from first touch to offer.
Share standout talent and collaborate across the recruiting team by contributing to shared pipelines and feedback loops that drive transparency, teamwork, and company-wide hiring success.
Continuously improve recruiting processes, tools, and metrics to increase speed, quality, and candidate engagement.
Jump in where needed-whether it's refining a pitch, sourcing for a new function, or helping a teammate close a critical hire-this is a collaborative startup environment where adaptability matters.
What You'll Need:
3-5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience across technical or engineering disciplines, ideally within a fast-paced, high-growth environment (startup experience preferred).
A proven ability to engage and hire top engineering talent across multiple domains (mechanical, process, device design, software, AI/ML, or manufacturing).
First-principles recruiting mindset - you question assumptions, dig into the "why" behind role needs, and design sourcing and evaluation strategies from the ground up rather than relying solely on precedent.
Demonstrated success developing and executing sourcing strategies that attract and engage passive talent.
Experience using applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse, Lever, or Ashby.
Strong closing skills-you drive the process end-to-end with persistence, judgment, and finesse.
A high degree of judgment and ability to operate autonomously while knowing when to collaborate or escalate.
A genuine curiosity for complex technology-you ask questions, dig in, and build fluency in what our teams are developing.
A collaborative mindset-you thrive in a team-driven recruiting culture that values shared wins and open communication.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to tone, clarity, and detail.
Strong multitasking skills-you can balance multiple searches while maintaining a high bar for quality and candidate experience.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience).
Availability to be on-site in Emeryville, 1-2 days a week, working side-by-side with engineers and hiring managers.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.
Salary Range$120,000-$150,000 USD

Staff Technical Program Manager, Matter Compiler
Emeryville, CA job
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler technology platform. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital-but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device-made possible only through the Matter Compiler technology platform-that we will be unveiling to the world soon.
Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.
About The Role:
We are looking for a deeply technical Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead programs around the development and scaling of our Matter Compiler - our fully autonomous and modular manufacturing system. This is not a traditional coordination role - it requires someone who has a strong track record of success as an individual contributor (IC) in technical domains, who has chosen to move into program leadership to step into a role where they can influence strategy, align teams across departments, and own outcomes that shape the success of the business.
At Atomic Machines, the way we work is unlike anywhere else. We own the full stack-from manufacturing platform to device design-which gives us the unprecedented ability to learn and iterate completely independently of any other company-placing full control of our pace of innovation in our own hands. We create processes and strategies to strengthen this advantage and move faster than traditional hardware companies. Within this context, TPMs are program owners and leaders. We are accountable for outcomes, not just timelines. Central to the role is implementing and evolving processes that help the organization learn and adapt at breakneck speed. This is not standard program management-this is pioneering work at the intersection of hardware and agile, demanding creativity, rigor, and leadership at the highest level. From a first‑principles perspective, you will design feedback loops, iteration cycles, and cross‑functional collaboration structures that push the boundaries of what's possible, accelerating both technical learning and organizational progress.
This role may be based out of either office location, Emeryville or Santa Clara, California.
What You'll Do:
* Institutionalize learnings and scale processes across the organization, amplifying Atomic Machines' unique ability to iterate independently and accelerate innovation, resulting in faster development cycles and more resilient execution.
* Drive the creation and ownership of program roadmaps for the Matter Compiler, setting measurable goals, defining milestones, and establishing accountability frameworks that directly connect to business outcomes and customer impact.
* Facilitate and lead cross-functional planning sessions, ensuring engineering, operations, and leadership are aligned on deliverables, sequencing, and resource allocations-leading to predictable delivery and reduced cycle times.
* Build and maintain detailed program execution plans that bridge strategy with daily tasks, keeping teams clear on priorities, dependencies, and timelines so progress can be measured, adjusted, and continuously improved.
* Design, pilot, and refine processes for collaboration in the Hybrid Fab environment, enabling rapid design-test-learn cycles across disciplines that accelerate technical learning and product readiness.
* Implement and actively manage risk registers, systematically tracking technical, organizational, and human risks, and updating mitigation strategies as programs evolve-reducing surprises and improving delivery confidence.
* Develop and maintain dashboards, program reviews, and reporting mechanisms that provide real-time visibility into program health for both executives and team members, enabling data-driven decision-making.
* Frame and communicate complex technical trade-offs as structured decision points, ensuring stakeholders understand options, implications, and risks so the organization consistently makes informed, high-quality decisions.
* Author and refine repeatable processes for recurring program challenges such as integration testing, scaling pilot runs into production, and synchronizing cross-team efforts, ensuring repeatability and faster ramp-up for future initiatives.
What You'll Need:
* 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Engineering Manager, or equivalent leadership role in a multi‑disciplinary environment, including leading complex integrated products with electronic/software control from conception to commercial release.
* Additional 5+ years as a hands-on engineer, designing and building complex systems - ideally highly automated precision systems. Your technical depth allows you to have productive highly technical discussions with the engineering team, e.g. driving alignment by assessing various approaches with their associated risks/benefits.
* A passion for unleashing transformative manufacturing capabilities that open the door to products and innovations previously out of reach, and for shaping how those capabilities are brought to market.
* A first‑principles mindset for evaluating technology investments and strategic decisions-such as buy vs. build or when to specialize vs. generalize-that ensures choices strengthen our long‑term competitive advantage.
* Significant technical background with substantive hands-on experience as an engineer designing and building complex systems-ideally highly automated precision systems. This technical depth enables productive, detailed discussions with engineers and the ability to align teams by weighing approaches and risks/benefits.
* Proven ability to structure programs, manage complex dependencies, track risk, and enable predictability in execution.
* Experience managing programs that included:
* Relentlessness in driving through ambiguity to achieve clarity on scope, ownership, and delivery plans.
* Ability and inclination to dive into technical details while staying accountable for program outcomes.
* Deep experience with and conviction around agile methodologies-especially as applied to hardware-and a track record of implementing new processes in startup or fast‑moving environments.
* Experience releasing products to manufacturing following defined, scalable processes.
* Strong leadership presence and excellent communication skills-articulate, concise, and able to earn the trust of both technical and executive stakeholders.
* High EQ and sound judgment for human dynamics in technical organizations; able to align people as effectively as systems.
* At least a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.

Senior Systems Engineer, Modeling Focus
Emeryville, CA job
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler technology platform.
We are looking for a talented and seasoned Systems Engineer to join as a key member of the Systems Engineering department to help us establish strong foundations for successfully attaining the long-term goals of our company, by successfully creating digital twins and models of our distributed robotic systems. The ideal candidate is also experienced in simulation and modeling techniques, robotics, applied physics, mechatronics and computer science. Atomic Machines is on a rapid growth trajectory. We are developing the foundational architecture for our automated manufacturing platform, which uses robotics as a key building block. This role has the opportunity to be a driving force in the development of Systems Engineering practices and adoption at Atomic Machines and will have a major influence in system definition, development and implementation. This role is based in Santa Clara or Emeryville.
What You'll Do:
* Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to conceptualize and refine low-level design concepts, and establish operational models.
* Develop and maintain software system models and simulation tools to create digital twin prototypes to guide development roadmaps and evaluate key design decisions
* Design and develop visualization, API's to enable crossfunctional teams use models in a variety of applications
* Create algorithmic optimization tools across process, hardware, and software to evaluate complex design scenarios
* Run and document key system-of-systems, subsystem simulations to guide hardware development, trade analysis for robotic and mechatronic designs
* Define, analyze, and develop essential requirements for the Atomic Machines system. Identify and mitigate latent risks across the system early and effectively.
* Engage in problem-solving for complex, multi-subsystem issues in a dynamic startup environment.
What You'll Need:
* A first-principles mindset - you question assumptions, break problems down to fundamentals, and prefer root-cause solutions over pattern-matching.
* At least 6 years of total experience, ideally with 3+ years writing software tools in a production environment and 3+ years of experience working on complex electromechanical systems.
* Technical Skills: High degree of proficiency in Python or Julia, familiarity with C/C++, and experience with software tools like Git.
* Knowledge: Strong grasp of math and physics, engineering principles, mechanical aptitude, and manufacturing experience. Familiarity with digital twin creation via discrete event simulation tools, optimization algorithms and frameworks. Familiarity with tools such as OR-Tools, Pyomo, Simpy, Modelica, Anylogic.
* Attributes: Creativity, problem-solving skills, ownership of projects, willingness to learn quickly, and ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations.
* Documentation: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
* Culture Fit: Productive participation in scrum meetings, driving clarity and alignment, and influencing cross-disciplinary teams.
* Bonus: Experience with 2D or 3D visualization tools.
* Education: At least a BS in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.

Test Development Engineer
Emeryville, CA job
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler technology platform.
We are seeking a Test Development Engineer with a strong electrical engineering background to join our growing Test team. At Atomic Machines, we are building a novel robotic manufacturing platform-the Matter Compiler-from the ground up. This enables us to explore entirely new materials and processes, making possible a class of devices that could not be fabricated in a conventional fab environment. From a Test perspective, this means we design tests for devices with specifications exceeding those from currently available solutions, and integrate some of those tests into a fully automated production framework.
Test in the context of hardware/device development inherently requires a multidisciplinary approach. We define a test from initial specifications through the block diagram stage, design and build custom hardware as necessary, and integrate it into a complete system. Test development encompasses mechanical fixturing, circuit board design, firmware development, integration of existing equipment, and analysis of the resulting data.
In addition to a strong electrical engineering background, the ideal candidate will bring strong first principles thinking, creativity, and a generalist bent. There are typically multiple approaches to developing any test, and navigating design / fabrication / results tradeoffs is where someone with a first principles approach will shine.
What You'll Do:
* Develop novel test instrumentation from initial specification through validation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams in device design, product development, and manufacturing to develop new classes of tests driven by customer and requirements
* Integrate off-the-shelf instrumentation with existing and custom tests.
* Design and build circuit boards for test instrumentation
* Design and build circuit boards to implement test functionalities and deploy them into our Matter Compiler architecture
* Document test instrumentation design and operating procedures.
* Transfer tests from development to production.
* Maintain Test development facilities.
What You'll Need:
* A strong first-principles approach - able to challenge assumptions, decompose problems to fundamentals, and drive toward true root-cause solutions rather than pattern-matching.
* Demonstrated experience in full board development, spanning initial circuit concepts through fully debugged hardware, including:
* Deep understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
* Experience implementing analog system control using microcontrollers.
* Familiarity with hardware-level communication protocols.
* Ability to develop microcontroller code in C.
* Strong documentation skills for clear hardware handoff to system-integration teams.
* Proficiency with standard electronic test equipment.
* Experience developing instrumentation, including constructing and managing error budgets.
* Solid hands-on lab skills, including soldering, hardware build/test, and iterative refinement.
* BS in Electrical Engineering or Physics required (8-10 years of relevant experience); PhD in a hard science or engineering discipline strongly preferred (5+ years of relevant experience).
Bonus Points For:
* High current (500A+) or high voltage (1kV+) systems
* Experience with a modern programming language (Python / Java / C# / Go)
* Experience using the STM32 microcontroller platform
* Experience with reliability or environmental test systems
* Developing systems for safe use by line technicians/operators
* Using Altium in a collaborative design environment
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.
