Special duty nurse job description

• Current RN licenses for states of practice
• Current certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR; ACLS; PALS or equivalent (if state or county required)
• Current certifications such as TPATC, TNCC, PHTLS or ITLS (some states may require specific trauma certifications for flight nurses)
• Current specialty training or willingness to let us train you in: NRP, FEMA, NIMS, IS 100, 200, 700, 800 and HazMat training

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: BSN or bachelor's degree in a health-related field

Experience: Pre-hospital experience and flight experience

Certifications: Specialty certifications such as CEN, CCRN, or CFRN

Operation and Safety Requirements:

As a member of the Clinical Flight Crew, any person employed in this position shall maintain a weight not to exceed 225 pounds including empty flight suit and boots.

As a Clinical Nurse III, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a procedure setting. Responsible for room efficiency
Take charge of patient triage
Perform patient and room prep
Confirm and post procedure calls
Overtime as needed to finish end of day backlog
Will rotate call



Education:



Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
BSN preferred



License/Certification/Registration:



Current, unrestricted California RN license required
ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association required



Experience:



A minimum of 2 year of Imaging nursing experience preferred
Interventional Radiology experience preferred
Will also consider ICU, ED, Cath lab or similar care level of experience
Ability to read EKG's and monitor sedated patients of all ages
High level proficiency in IV placement

*Position Summary: *

Performs direct patient care through utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, physician orders, hospital policies and procedures, and established professional standards. The RN is responsible and accountable for the delivery of safe, competent care either through direct delivery of that care or appropriate delegation and for performance improvement and quality initiatives as appropriate.
