‖ Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid state teaching credential preferred.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education instruction credential.
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).

Compensation and Benefits
The Classroom Instructor position is a semester-based contract beginning in early January 2026 and ending in late May 2026. The total compensation for this contract is $25,000 for the Spring 2026 semester. Payment will follow AFCs biweekly contract payment schedule, with payments issued every other Friday for the duration of the contract.
This position does not include employee benefits during the January through May 2026 contract period. Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone, and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurately perceiving sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must be able to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
