    Redding Elementary School: Preschool Paraeducator JobID: 1218 Support Staff/Special Education Assistant Date Available: 05/05/2025 Additional Information: Show/Hide Available: Immediately Hours: Monday-Friday, 6.25 hours per day when school is in session and one day prior to students returning to school after the summer break (181 days per school year) Qualifications: * Must have two years of college credit; OR Associates Degree or higher; OR must provide evidence of having passed the State Board of Education adopted paraprofessional assessment which assesses content knowledge in mathematics, reading and writing and an understanding of how to assist in the instruction of those topics. (In Connecticut, the ParaPro Examination is the recognized assessment.) * Previous experience working with young children in a school setting a plus * Must be flexible, creative, have a good sense of humor, and demonstrate strong organizational skills * Must be highly motivated and self-directed Salary and Benefits: Per collective bargaining agreement.
