SIP - Social Intervention Program
Social Intervention Program (SIP) classrooms provide a system of support - both academic and emotional/behavioral - for students with significant emotional/behavioral needs within the regular school setting. SIP is a program, not a place, which incorporates a range of settings, from self-contained classrooms to full-inclusion within general education classrooms, with behavioral support (it is an IEP team decision what the least restrictive environment is for each child).
The goal of SIP is to help children acquire and develop effective, prosocial behaviors so they can be successful in regular classroom settings, and to support the children to make adequate academic progress. Students are given work at their developmental levels and the WCSD adopted curriculum and texts are utilized. The primary goal is to extinguish behaviors that are impeding students' ability to be successful in the general education classroom, and to provide positive replacement behaviors, so that students can return to the general education classroom.
The SIP has as its framework, a structured behavior management program that includes frequent positive reinforcement, with consistent consequences, to shape appropriate school behaviors, such as staying calm, following instructions, etc.
SIP teachers' roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Training: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred. Experience working with the educational setting in an area of specialeducation preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Must possess or be able to acquire a Nevada teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education and be certified in the relevant subject area.

APPLICATION PROCESS:
After review, suitable applicants will be invited by phone or email on or around Thursday, February 5, 2026 to participate in a skills assessment. Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for February 19, 2026. COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $45,229 to $49,952 annually, dependent on education and experience. There is potential to reach $57,948 annually, through step advancement plus longevity when appropriate. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.
Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. Several plan options maintain a zero monthly premium cost from the employee. LTCC also matches 26.81% of an eligible employee's salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees.
Work-Life Balance: This position is 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, shifts will be within center hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours will shift according to the needs of the program. This position is eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt). This position may qualify for LTCC's telecommute program, which allows employees the opportunity to telecommute for up to 20% of the work week after completion of a three-month qualifying period.
LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year.

Definition:
Under the direction of an assigned Director, perform a variety of complex technical functions in support of the designated department, assist students, staff, and the public by providing information and appropriate materials.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
A Technician is trained or skilled in the technical aspect of a subject. This is the entry-level class in the Technician series. Work is performed under direct supervision of a director within a department. Position exercises less discretion and judgment in matters related to work procedures and methods. Work is usually supervised while in progress or is performed within specific guidelines and fits a pattern that has been established and explained before the work is started. Representative Duties:

Wilderness Education and Outdoor Leadership Option Class:
Reporting to the Dean of Workforce Development and Instruction, assist the faculty department lead and/or Director with outfitting and other logistical needs of the Wilderness Education and Outdoor Leadership (WEOL) program. This will include instructional supplies and equipment sourcing, allocation, distribution, and management/upkeep for all courses and related programming. Communicate and engage directly with students and course instructors for related matters. Programmatic needs will be forecasted in part by this individual and shared with the WEOL Faculty Lead/Director and Dean of Workforce Development and Instruction. Directly contribute to strategic planning and growth of the program.

Essential functions:
* Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated area(s) of instruction.
* Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems or study habits; coordinate with other staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
* Develop and prepare lessons; recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.
* Utilize workplace language and behavior expectations in the classroom; on a routine basis, relate academic skills to career technical training and workplace requirements; inquire if individual students need assistance.
* Review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students. Prepare related reports.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Valid credential, experience with youth, and communication/computer proficiency.
* One (1) year instructional experience preferred.
* A Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Under the supervision of the manager/supervisor, cooperatively provides a quality environment in which to care for children under the Resources for Infant Educating (RIE) philosophy and NAEYC developmentally appropriate practices. The incumbent's main responsibilities include: meeting the daily needs of the children, maintaining the necessary and appropriate routines; using age appropriate classroom curriculum and management practices; daily conversations and conferences with parents regarding their child; modeling behavior for and supporting coworkers; and providing coworkers and parents with informational training sessions.
Nature and Scope
The major challenges to this position include: caring for children following the RIE and learning through play philosophies; showing acceptance and flexibility to meet the needs of individual children and parents; diplomacy with parents regarding the care of their child; awareness of daily fluctuating classroom ratios; and acceptance of and cooperation with coworkers unique talents and teaching techniques within the program philosophy.
This position has the authority to communicate with parents on a daily basis regarding the child's well being, nutrition, general health, etc. Follow discussion and approval of the manager/supervisor and caregiver, this position has authority to communicate with parents regarding a specific behavioral or developmental problem. This position can explain, instruct, or assign work to co-workers within their designated classroom. Other related duties and overtime may be required.
