KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIAISON:
Create, implement, and review individual client treatment plans.
Monitor client behavior and school achievement by conducting in-school checks on a daily basis.

Update parents/guardians on client progress and provide problem-solving interactions.
Provide supervision and support to youth placed in the Summer Youth Employment Program.
LOCATION: Kenosha, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients and families within KUSD school buildings, family homes, or other community spaces. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday with occasional evenings. Full-time 40 during the school year (September-early June) and part-time during summer months.

Elementary Program Description
At The Frances Xavier Warde School (FXW), our kindergarten to second grade program is focused on helping young students to develop their academic, social, and emotional skills through a comprehensive curriculum approach. During these grades, we work particularly to build a strong foundation across the core content areas of reading, writing, and math. Most importantly, our teaching focuses on creating child-centered, safe, joyful classrooms that inspire lifelong learners. There are two teachers in each kindergarten to second grade classroom to fulfill these goals while differentiating instruction in a way that is developmentally responsive to meet the needs of all learners.
Primary Function
Operating in this two-teacher model, the kindergarten to second grade teacher is responsible for educating the whole child by providing a quality learning experience to all children in one's classroom. Each teacher assumes full and shared responsibility for all aspects of the classroom. The teacher responds to the needs of each individual child by developing and implementing lessons in all subject areas. The classroom teacher fosters and maintains relationships with students and families, working as partners in each child's educational experience.
Qualifications and Requirements
A bachelor's or master's degree in education.
A valid, issued State of Illinois teaching certificate is preferred.
A master's degree in a curriculum area is preferred.
Although FXW is an Independent Catholic School, all faculty and staff comply with the Archdiocese of Chicago's Protecting God's Children Requirements.

1. Promotion of health and disease prevention concepts and health-enhancing behaviors; effects of the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; and biological, social, cultural and psychological aspects of human sexuality and family life.
2. Provide differentiated learning experiences for the range of skill levels and developmental needs of your students, and organize/administer physical fitness testing, at least twice per school year.
3. Plan and execute Health education instruction including, but not limited to movement concepts and skills for lifelong physical activities.
4. Provide adaptive Health related activities and instruction for students with IEP's or Section 504 Plans, as appropriate.
5. The Health teacher collaborates with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators in addressing a variety of instructional issues.
6. Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil, to the extent feasible.
7. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district, and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
8. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district guidelines.
9. Communicates with parents and school counselors on pupil progress.
10. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
11. Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
12. Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs.
13. Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
15. The Health teacher communicates with students; parents/guardians regarding instructional programs and student progress.

POSITION OBJECTIVE
Determine the needs and provide for the development of children birth through three. Work to create a safe environment for children and act as a role model for teaching staff. Implement and maintain all components regarding children birth through three, based on EHS, State Pre-K, Child Care and state and local requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical assistance, advisement, support and role modeling to members of the Infant, Toddler and Two's teaching staff in curriculum and development issues
Coordinate monthly teacher meetings to ensure on-going cooperation among staff and to ensure that individual teachers are working towards a unified approach to infant, toddler and two's development; maintain a strong classroom presence
Ensure compliance with all curriculum related to funding and licensing requirements pertaining to the Infant, Toddler and Two's program.
Review lesson plans on a weekly basis, make any recommendations for needed changes and follow through on implementation of lesson plans
Provide a copy each week to the Associate Director of Early Childhood, Associate Director of Parent Involvement and Manager of Health and Disabilities
Meet with the teaching staff and the Manager of Health and Disabilities to ensure compliance to and an understanding of appropriate health and nutrition practices.
Coordinate portfolio assessments of all children in a timely manner and conduct classroom observations monthly
Ensure that parent-teacher conferences are conducted twice a year and assist teachers in both preparation and conducting these conferences, as needed.
Provide training, support and follow up to program staff regarding Creative Curriculum, Ages and Stages and Ages and Stages Social Emotional Questionnaire, Portfolio and Parent Teacher Conferences.
Qualifications:

Two years of experience working in a birth through three-year-old classroom, preferably in an Early Head Start or governmentally funded child care program;
Bi-lingual skills in English/Spanish is desirable
Education:
