As a SpecialEducationTeacher, you will lead the instructional process for High School students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), designing dynamic and personalized learning experiences within the learning center and/or classroom. Your role includes delivering targeted instruction, utilizing innovative curriculum resources, integrating educational software, and creating comprehensive lesson plans and schedules tailored to the diverse physical, emotional, and educational needs of each student, in alignment with state and school standards.

Utilizing varied and engaging instructional methods, resources, and educational software to effectively respond to and support diverse student needs and interests.
Managing student caseload responsibilities, including developing, updating, and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), goals, and interventions.
Preparing detailed daily lesson plans and organizing instructional materials that align with curriculum standards and individual student objectives.
Maintaining an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment, managing supplies, furniture, and resources effectively according to established procedures.
Staying informed on current research-based instructional practices, trends, and developments in specialeducation and subject-specific areas to continually enhance teaching effectiveness.
Responding openly and constructively to feedback from formal evaluations and informal observations, actively pursuing ongoing professional growth.
Supporting the school community by performing additional duties as assigned, contributing positively to the overall success of the educational program.
โ Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, specialeducation or a closely related field of study.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a state teaching credential.
Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a specialeducation instruction credential (Moderate-Severe).
Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management (PCM) training.
Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in a specialeducation classroom setting.
Prior experience and/or knowledge in specialeducation services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and/or other related disabilities.
Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
Proven success in developing and implementing effective education plans for students with diverse needs.
Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals.
Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
Ability to think and act quickly and calmly in an emergency and make independent decisions.
Knowledge of relevant technology including experience with instructional technology, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

SHARS/ MAC / RMTS:
Northwest ISD participates in the School Health and Related Services (SHARS) and MAC programs which allows our district to request Medicaid reimbursement for certain health-related services. The Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee determines SHARS services.
As a specialeducation staff member, you will be required to train and bill for SHARS reimbursements for students on your caseload. Trainings will be provided for SHARS, for RMTS (Random Moment in Time Studies), where staff are chosen randomly to answer a few questions, and for MAC (Diagnosticians and non-Personal Care Providers only). Training will be provided at the beginning of each school year as well as on an "as needed" basis for new hires.

About This Role:
- In a company-provided vehicle, you will educate and advise students while teaching them the fundamentals of operating a car behind the wheel
- We'll assist you in obtaining the state-required driving instructor certification through our paid training program. Our training team will guide you through the requirements and provide the coursework to obtain your state license.
- All of our lessons are taught in a Coastline Car and recorded with a dashboard camera for the safety of you and your student
- The majority of the demand for driving lessons is in the afternoons and weekends as most of our students are on a school schedule. A typical day could consist of three, two-hour lessons.
What does training entail?
- Training will consist of 60 hours of learning (40 hours of at home reading and modules and 20 hours of behind-the-wheel in-car in person training)
- In-person behind-the-wheel training in a Coastline car in your local area
- You will shadow 3 in-car lessons as well as do 3 x 4 hours of training with a Certified Trainer
Responsibilities:
Teaching practical skills related to all aspects of driving
Providing instruction on the rules of the road
Helping students to develop confidence in their driving skills
Gaining control of the vehicle during emergency situations
Documenting and reporting on students' progress
Maintaining timely communication with your supervisor and support team
Maintaining professionalism with students and fellow team members
Attending team meetings for updates and ongoing development
Requirements
Qualifications:
A genuine passion for helping people learn
Ability to remain calm in a learning environment
A valid State Driver's License in the state you wish to work in
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and reference check
Must have 10 years of legal driving experience
A strong safety mindset and strong reasoning ability
Ability to give clear instruction, coach, communicate effectively to others
Ability to focus for extended periods of time
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in a vehicle
Must be able to see and hear during all weather conditions
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, touch, feel
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
