Conducts product evaluations in regards to post process, incubation and secondary packaging. Ensures all finished product evaluations, as well as secondary packaging evaluations, are conducted in accordance with SOPs. Responsible for areas of product improvement in response to post-process evaluations.
Supports product testing. Collaborates with the Raw Material Technical Manager to ensure reviews of finished products being tested for new raw materials or suppliers are completed with appropriate testing and possibly pictures as a part of the Supplier Approval process. Supports Early Release program. Gather information needed so that management can evaluate and schedule the release of product prior to the normal incubation period. Ensures all finished products, including R&D test products, are sent to outside labs for all required testing.
Initiates communication with customers in regards to products involved in our positive release program. Audits finished product analysis; ensures samples are conveyed to the customer for review and that products are released once positive release has been obtained. Supports and trains laboratory technicians in key criteria used in daily evaluations and sample gathering. Works closely with production to improve both finished product quality and in process quality. Gather information to provide customer-complaint responses. Ensures customer samples are sent out for each run of commercialized product per customer's requests.
Monitors daily panels for continuous improvement options by working closely with the production floor. In conjunction with the Lab Tech, inputs finished product analysis into IQS/JDE in a timely manner. Works with R&D to monitor that Finished Product Specifications are up to date and correct. Reviews and maintains upkeep of all QA related logs and verifications.
Manages and maintains equipment calibration for all finished product related equipment & other QA related devices.
Participates as a member of the Team. Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

* Assist with communication related to system updates, planned downtimes, and changes.
* Work collaboratively with the EHR Manager, EHR Specialist II, IT, Compliance, and clinical teams to support smooth EHR operations.
* Participate in meetings, training sessions, and improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, user interactions, and system-related needs.
* Shared after-hours and weekend on-call support, as assigned, to ensure timely response to urgent EHR issues, system access needs, or critical workflow disruptions.
* Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
* High school diploma or equivalency required.
* Associate or bachelor degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or a related healthcare/IT field preferred.
Experience:
* 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, EHR use, clinical documentation, or health information support required.
Knowledge/Skills:
* Basic understanding of HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and healthcare privacy standards.
* Familiarity with behavioral health EHR systems (e.g., Credible, Netsmart, Epic Behavioral Health, or similar) preferred.
* Strong communication, customer service, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to support users with varying technical proficiency.
* Ability to learn new systems quickly and follow established procedures accurately.
Licenses/Certifications:

+ Reviews medical information for ADAAA temporary and permanent accommodation requests.

The Insurance Billing Specialist accurately and promptly reviews and updates claims needing manual intervention prior to claim submission, submits claims to insurance carriers, follows up on the status of unpaid claims, works denied claims to resolve any errors or provides necessary information to payers needed for disputing or resubmitting. This position requires routine problem solving and handles inquiries from both insurance carriers and patients, with a goal of account resolution.

Essential Job Functions
Reviews, edits, and corrects claims, as necessary, checking for accuracy and readiness of claims to be submitted through the electronic health record (EPIC).
Prepares and submits claims to insurance carriers and intermediaries, i.e. releasing electronic claims, printing paper claims, and/or secondary claim as required per individual payer.
Works with various departments to ensure that held claims will be released to the payer within timely filing limits.
Performs follow-up procedures, inquiring on the status of unpaid claims via phone call or various payer portals, to ensure timely payment of insurance claims.
Responds to routine patient and insurance company inquiries and problems.
Researches denials/non-covered charges and re-submits or appeals, as necessary.
Reviews late charges for re-billing or adjustment of claims, as necessary.
Reviews insurance eligibility or coverage changes to ensure accuracy of information, resolve any outstanding issues, and rebill claims when necessary.
Updates necessary changes to patient demographics and/or insurance information.
Reviews accounts with insurance credit balances and determines if a refund or other action is necessary to settle account.
Accommodates patient requests and inquiries promptly and courteously, answering incoming calls to the Business Office, educating patients on their financial responsibilities to the organization, accepting payment, setting up payment plans, etc.
Performs other duties as deemed necessary for the continued viability and success of the department and organization as a whole.

Requirements
Education
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Business Related
Experience
1-2 years of healthcare billing experience preferred
1-2 years of EPIC experience preferred
