About the Team:

The Role:
Work as part of a tightly knit team to design, develop, implement, and deploy advanced algorithms and software systems. Assist other technical contributors throughout the software lifecycle, from early prototypes to integrated systems. Work on a diverse set of applications, including software and integration for distributed mission planning, Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (ISR) management, and novel visualizations to provide decision support to human analysts/planners.
This position is based in one of our offices, but will take advantage of STR's flexible, hybrid environment – when the work does not require use of STR's facilities, you are welcome to work remotely. Currently, we anticipate that you could work remotely as much as 80% of the time.
Who You Are:
BS in Computer Science or related technical field with at least 2 years of work experience
Demonstrate expertise in Java and Object-Oriented Design techniques
Experience designing, building, testing, debugging, and maintaining a large codebase
Ability to quickly learn new programing languages, third-party software frameworks, and innovative technologies
Experience with the following:
Object-oriented programming principles
Service oriented architectures or micro-service architectures
Containerization/orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Agile software lifecycle methodologies and tools, such as JIRA and SonarQube
GitLab, CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, and code quality tools in software development processes
Test-driven development methodologies
Developing concurrent and asynchronous code
A demonstrated ability to adopt new languages, libraries, and technologies
This position requires an Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with SCI eligibility, for which U.S citizenship is needed by the US government

Must be able to maintain various diesel and gasoline engines, air compressors, valves, and valve operators, fire pumps and similar equipment; hydraulic hoses, rigs and loading arm facilities including all winches, cranes, pumps, cables, bearings, and blocks; conduct relevant tests including hose tests, etc. and makes necessary adjustments.
Must be able to repair and mechanically install various protective, alarm and other devices such as cooling systems, seal leak detectors, vibration monitors, tank gaugers, etc.; complete miscellaneous mechanical repairs to buildings, tanks, etc.; perform insulating rigging, grouting and other work associated with maintenance activities; perform DOT pressure calibrations of trip and pressure relief valves and activators.

Position Purpose:
Provides and operates a process coordination role in the operation and maintenance of wastewater systems and facilities to company and statutory standards to ensure adequacy / quality of output streams – water, solids and air discharges.

To identify and take action to resolve any poor performance of the process and undertake in depth analysis of the process and identify solutions at the optimum operating cost. Provide advice to maintenance departments as appropriate.
To organize and supervise contractors and ensure compliance with company and statutory standards both during design review and implementation of design.
To prioritize, plan, direct and coordinate resources in the field to maintain the required support.

Position Summary: Design and coordinate protection and control systems for one or more of the following areas of responsibility: transmission, substation or distribution. Provide support for the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of protection and control systems. Perform post-fault event analysis. Develop and maintain standards and specifications. Work on project teams. Assist with NERC compliance.
Position Responsibilities
Develop and maintain system models for short circuit analysis and coordination studies (Aspen OneLiner/CymeDIST).
Design detailed wiring diagrams for protection and control schemes.
Analyze protection coordination, perform protection calculations, and create relay protection and logic settings.
Prepare and maintain protection system specifications and standards in compliance with industry guidelines and good engineering practices.
Evaluate application of new protection equipment.
Maintain accurate protection system documentation (drawings, settings, and scheme descriptions).
Investigate protection system misoperations and develop corrective action plans.
Provide construction and commission testing support for protection and control projects.
Provide technical support to substation and relay technicians.
Coordinate protection and control projects: design, bill of materials, cost estimates, purchase requisitions, and schedule.
Participate on project teams for large scope projects such as new substation construction.
Perform and document tasks required to demonstrate compliance with NERC protection and control requirements.
Education
Associate's Degree Engineering (Electrical or Power preferred) with 10 years of Protection and Control Engineering experience (Required) or
Bachelor's Degree Engineering (Electrical or Power preferred) (Required) or
Master's Degree Engineering (Electrical or Power preferred) (Preferred)
Work Experience
Engineering with 6 years' experience in Power Engineering. (Required)
3 years multiple Power Engineering roles. (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

A Senior Embedded Software Engineer at STR will engage as part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers dedicated to developing cutting-edge vulnerability research technologies. Our work targets the boundary between the digital and physical worlds by creating models of physical systems, probing interfaces for weaknesses, and reverse engineering software.
What you will do:
Working as part of a small team to design, develop, and test software applications and tools, in languages such as C, C++, and Python
Ensuring software quality through the practice of unit-level and system-level tests and verification Integrating software components using networking/messaging technologies
Packaging software for ease of configuration control, delivery, and deployment
Communicating technical foundations of software designs and implementations through reports and presentations
Who you are:
This position requires an Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is needed by the U.S. Government.
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5 years of experience (or MS and 3 years)
Deep knowledge of at least one of the following topics: microcontroller software, embedded systems, firmware, kernels, or drivers
Proficiency in at least one compiled and one scripting programming language
Familiarity with assembly language, operating systems internals (e.g., file systems, IO, memory management, device drivers), threading, compiler technologies (e.g., GCC, LLVM)
Experience with software scripting and build automation tools (e.g., bash, make)
Applied skills using collaborative source code management and software engineering tools (e.g., Git, Subversion, Gitlab)
Nice to have:
Experience working on classified programs
Proficiency in C, C++, and Python
Understanding of common software vulnerabilities, and secure programming principles
