In 1980, Boeing contracted with Rex to heat treat hydrofoil foils and struts for a high-speed boat they were developing.
Since 1981, AHT has developed into a multi-service heat treat company that takes pride in fitting the ideal solution to any application.
After processing many of these parts, the Company was recognized by Boeing and the Small Business Administration as the 1981 “National Small Business Subcontractor of the Year”. Rex is the only commercial heat treater to have ever earned this distinction.
Developed in 1985, the S³P treatments involve low temperature diffusion of large quantities of carbon and/or nitrogen into the surface without the formation of chromium precipitations.
In 1985 these businesses were sold to concentrate on the expanding business in Lansdale.
Evidence of this technique was first found in 1990.
High Performance Heat Treating was incorporated in July of 1993.
