Maintains floor stock, restocking, and removal of expired medications.
Rotate stock of medication areas to ensure quality controls.
Prepack for floor bulk prescribed medications.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities
* Fills prescription items, as permitted by the State Board of Pharmacy, packaging medications for dispensing and for delivery, meeting the accuracy and productivity standards of the pharmacy
* Labels products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels
* Participates in the periodic inventory of the pharmacy
* May check in drugs and supplies, stock shelves and remove out-of-date items from the inventory
* Prepares medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments, which may include non-sterile compounding
* Communicates with internal and external customers in a pleasant and professional manner
* May process returned medications from the facility for credit or destruction
* Assists in the training of new employees
* Also performs at least one of the following:
* Works in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room;
* Works with automated machine to prepack drugs;
* Manages inventory functions such as monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identify expired medications, managing to the pharmacy standard for Days on Hand;
* Inputs patient data and medication orders into a computer system to produce labels (data entry);
* Mixes/packages IV medications, sanitizes IV room, equipment and hood
* Services facility-based medication dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow)
* Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
* Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in a pharmacy setting and with medical terminology. Ability to operate a computer; ability to recognize and identify medications. Detail oriented; goal oriented, team player, effective oral communication. Pharmacy Technician license.
* Desired: Long Term Care pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

Review chronic dispensing calendar created by customer service representatives and ensure the completion of all order entries and shipments each day.
Enter prescriptions accurately into computer according to dispensing calendar and have Pharmacist verify correctness of the prescription entry.
Gather medication and supplies, label, and have orders verified for correctness by the Pharmacist.
Contact physician regarding needed refill requests that are discovered at time of dispensing.
Package and ship orders as needed. Maintain all necessary shipping supplies.
Operate POS and ring sales accurately. Responsible for problem solving and completing any online prescription rejections and/or errors.

Track all shipments through to delivery via Fed-Ex Tracking Report, and notify CSR's of any problems or delays.
Assist CSR's in answering all incoming calls when needed.
Order all chronic medications, audit receipt of goods, review invoices to ensure correctness and route to managing pharmacist for approval. Responsible for changing/updating and notifying Managing Pharmacist of all price changes on all medications and supplies.
Assist in inventory control such as ordering all chronic medications, auditing receipt of goods, taking inventory, stocking, pricing and monitoring usage.
Assist in compiling necessary reports and/or audit information.
File as necessary.
Work cooperatively with other staff members to promote a positive and team oriented work environment.
Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
Participate in the Performance Improvement Process.
Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs, pharmacy staff meetings, inservices, and other programs as required.
Exemplify excellence in customer communications and service.
Have a good understanding and working knowledge of all VytlOne policies and procedures, JCAHO accreditation requirements and HIPAA operational guidelines.
May be included in after hour's on-call rotation.
Maintains regular attendance per established policies.

Qualifications
Education:
HS Diploma/GED required. Some college work preferred
Registered/Active TX Pharmacy Technician License
Experience:
Previous experience with patient accounts in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
Understanding of insurance, prior authorization and patient benefits strongly preferred
A minimum of one-year patient accounts experience mandatory
Computer experience mandatory
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care

What the Pharmacy Technician I does
The Pharmacy Technician, along with other technicians, performs the bulk of the study dosing. They perform dispensing, preparation, and dosing procedures following WCT procedures and study protocol requirements. The Pharmacy Technician works under the direct supervision and guidance of the Pharmacy Supervisor or Pharmacist and may be indirectly supervised by the Site Director and/or the Manager, Clinical Study. He/she is not responsible for supervising other staff.

As a Pharmacy Technician you will:
* Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery.
* Accurately label products, including cautionary and auxiliary labels.
* Prepare medications, including non-sterile compounding (liquids, powders, ointments, etc.).
* Enter patient and prescription data into the computer system to generate labels.
* Participate in pharmacy inventory management, including checking stock and removing expired medications.
* Handle returned medications per protocol (credit or destruction).
* Communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
* Assist with onboarding and training new pharmacy staff.
* Perform specialized tasks such as:
* Working in the Controlled Drugs (Narcotics) Room.
* Operating automated machines to prepack medications.
* Mixing IV medications and sanitizing IV room/equipment.
* Servicing facility-based dispensing machines (e.g., RxNow).
* Perform other pharmacy support tasks as assigned.

PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsible for assisting in the completion of all aspects of non-sterile medication processing and compounding under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist and in accordance with SOPs and regulatory compliance.
JOB DUTIES:
Act as customer service representative for all customers and/or patients
Process, prepare, compound, package and label non-sterile pharmaceuticals per prescriber order in accordance with regulation and licensing standards
Ensure proper bulk compound preparations in accordance with monthly usage
Perform calculations for the preparation of medication and pharmaceutical products
Assist with management of inventory levels, stock medication and chemicals, return excess stock to inventory and manage expired medication or chemical product

Assist in the training and orientation of new pharmacy staff
Respond to telephone inquiries, referring them to appropriate professional staff where needed

Document daily, weekly and monthly duties completed on checklists

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
