Job Overview - Construction Superintendent:
Compensation: $90,000 - $140,000/year + bonus
Atlantic Group is hiring a Construction Superintendent with our client in Raleigh, NC. This on-site role oversees ground-up construction projects, managing daily field operations, subcontractors, inspections, safety, and schedule execution. Ideal for an experienced GC superintendent with strong leadership and field management skills across industrial, manufacturing, tilt-wall, warehouse, or healthcare projects.
Responsibilities as the Construction Superintendent:
Field Leadership: Oversee all daily jobsite operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and smooth execution of ground-up construction activities.
Scheduling & Coordination: Manage project schedules, inspections, sequencing, and daily work planning to keep the project on track.
Subcontractor Management: Direct and coordinate subcontractors, verify workmanship, resolve conflicts, and ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
Safety & Quality Control: Enforce safety standards, maintain OSHA compliance, conduct site inspections, and ensure high-quality construction throughout the project.
Documentation & Communication: Maintain daily reports, logs, and project documentation while providing consistent updates to owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
Qualifications for the Construction Superintendent:
Experience: 5-10 years of superintendent experience with ground-up construction across industrial, manufacturing, tilt-wall, warehouse, healthcare, or similar projects.
Industry Background: Must come from a general contracting firm with field leadership experience managing large-scale, ground-up work.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar), blueprint reading, and jobsite documentation.
Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage complex jobsite operations and multiple subcontractors simultaneously.

The Role
As Johnnie-O continues to expand its retail footprint, the Retail Construction Project Manager will support the end-to-end execution of new store openings, remodels, and other retail initiatives. This role is highly cross-functional, partnering with internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects open on time, on budget, and to brand standards. The ideal candidate is organized, communicative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities
Front-End Real Estate Support
Participate in early site evaluations and provide construction feasibility input.
Review LOI/Lease terms related to delivery conditions, work letters, and construction timelines.
Partner with Real Estate and Legal to clarify requirements and support negotiations.
Pre-Construction Planning
Coordinate site visits, measurements, and technical due diligence.
Facilitate distribution of site information and design materials to internal teams and external partners.
Serve as the primary point of contact for drawings, layouts, and approvals.
Help develop project schedules and budgets across construction, fixtures, IT, and merchandising.
Support GC sourcing, bidding, and selection.
Coordinate installation of barricades, temporary walls, window graphics, and window wraps.
Construction Oversight
Monitor on-site progress to ensure alignment with scope, budget, and timeline.
Conduct site visits, flag risks, and maintain clear weekly communication.
Review and route contractor pay applications and invoices.
Keep cross-functional teams aligned through opening.
Post-Construction & Store Opening
Lead final walk-throughs and punch list management.
Oversee final inspections, CO, and landlord requirements.
Support Retail Ops with store setup, fixture installation, and opening readiness.
Provide light post-opening support as needed.
Ongoing Responsibilities
Identify opportunities to improve construction and fixture processes.
Maintain vendor relationships and support facilities needs when required.
Help ensure consistency of brand standards across existing stores.
Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, and project files.
Qualifications
3-6+ years of experience in retail construction, store development, facilities, or related project management.
Strong understanding of retail construction, drawings, permitting, and landlord processes.
Ability to interpret architectural plans and construction documents.
Vendor and contractor negotiation experience.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple builds simultaneously.
Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
Strong communication and cross-functional alignment skills.
Willingnessto travel for site walks and openings (approx. 30-40%).

Purpose of the Position
Supervises and coordinates activities of assigned team of workers while demonstrating a commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality work with a high degree of managerial discretion. Reviews job specifications, inspects work site, and confers with contracting agent to evaluate removal project.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Estimates length of time, number of workers, and equipment and supplies required to accomplish project.
Assigns and supervises workers in specific tasks, such as setup of equipment and removal and clean-up of asbestos.
Monitors and inspects quality of work during project.
Examines workers' equipment, such as respirator systems, air evacuation and filtration systems, and air quality testing devices, to ensure that they meet company and government safety standards.
May maintain project records and order supplies.
May assist workers in removal activities (see Asbestos Worker Position Description)
Counsels and disciplines workers regarding undesirable performance or behavioral issues in collaboration with Human Resources as applicable.
Responsible for scheduling, tracking attendance, and communicating time off requests and absences to the Project Manager or Human Resources
Promotes safe and productive work environment with superior employee morale and engagement.
Ensures that all demolition and abatement activities meet or exceed the customer's expectations, Company's standards, and all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Physical activities: Enters and locates information on a smartphone, tablet, or computer, often in small print. Communicates with customers, employees, and home office staff in person, over the phone, or via email. Must be on feet for up to 10 hours per day; regular standing, sitting, kneeling, twisting, bending; must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds; must be able to work in extreme hot/cold, wet/dry environment.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Management
Lead all onsite activities during installation, commissioning, and system validation.
Supervise installation crews, subcontractors, and field technicians; ensure professional, safe, and productive jobsite behavior.
Maintain accurate project schedules, daily logs, and progress reporting.
Conduct daily briefings and safety reviews.
Maintain daily site logs, field notes, quality checks, and progress updates for internal teams.
Technical Installation & Quality Control
Ensure installations comply with engineering drawings, electrical/mechanical standards, and Frontline QA processes.
Perform or oversee equipment setup, piping, electrical terminations, sensor placement, and system calibration.
Validate system functionality during commissioning and support troubleshooting during startup.
Inspect work for adherence to Frontline quality standards; identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce OSHA, state, and company safety standards; maintain a safety-first jobsite culture.
Support site readiness for inspections coordinated by the Project Manager.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with the Construction Project Manager on schedules, manpower planning, and daily execution needs.
Ensure field teams are prepared with the proper tools, materials, and installation plans.

Qualifications
Must-Have
10+ years of experience in construction.
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or field supervisor in construction, utilities, fire protection, or related technical trades.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and low-voltage installation practices.
Proven ability to lead crews and subcontractors in a field environment.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts, and installation specs.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, with experience enforcing OSHA and jobsite standards.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a customer-first approach.
Valid driver's license with ability to travel to job sites across assigned regions.

Your Role: General Construction Superintendent
This position functions as a General Construction Superintendent, responsible for all field operations on residential construction projects.
While Fountain Services is an electrical contractor by trade, this role is not trade-specific. The Superintendent will oversee and coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades (framing, concrete, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, finishes, etc.), ensuring work is performed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
The Superintendent partners closely with the Project Manager to deliver projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership: Manage all daily site operations including supervision of subcontractors, coordination of construction activities, enforcement of safety protocols, and execution of the project schedule.
Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed look-ahead schedules; drive progress to meet critical milestones and proactively resolve conflicts and delays.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is performed to high standards, in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and owner requirements.
Safety Oversight: Enforce site safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
Team Coordination: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, consultants, and client representatives to maintain alignment and ensure clear communication.
Inspections & Reporting: Coordinate with local authorities for inspections and approvals; maintain daily logs, safety documentation, and progress reports.
Minimum Requirements
8+ years of general construction field leadership experience, preferably in a general contractor or homebuilder environment
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong understanding of all elements of commercial construction including structural, MEP, and architectural coordination in retrofit or hybrid new/old environments.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings, submittals, and technical documents.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Proven experience with project manager software
