This Senior HR Compliance Manager is a strategic and hands‑on role responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive HR compliance programs. This role ensures all HR policies and practices align with legal requirements and company standards. This Senior HR Compliance Manager will lead the Compliance strategy for the US, while providing consultative guidance and oversight for Canada. The Senior HR Compliance Manager serves as a key advisor and collaborator with HR Business Partners, Legal, Retail, Distribution Centers, Canada, and senior leadership on all matters related to HR compliance. Employee Lifecycle Management Oversee all stages of the employee lifecycle: pre-onboarding, and offboarding, ensuring consistent processes, compliance, and positive employee experience. Coordinate new hire paperwork, background checks, benefit enrollment, and orientation programs. Manage offboarding activities including exit interviews, final pay processing, and COBRA administration. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA). Monitor HR practices and proactively implement company policy updates to reflect changes in labor laws, regulatory requirements, or internal business needs. Maintain audit-ready employee records and documentation for legal and compliance purposes. Administer and manage workers' compensation claims, partnering with employees, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure proper reporting and resolution. Vendor, Carrier & Facility Management Manage relationships with HR technology vendors, benefits carriers, and payroll providers. Coordinate general facility operations, including maintenance, safety protocols, office space planning, and vendor services. Process Improvement & HR Reporting Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HR operational processes for better efficiency and compliance. Generate regular reports and analytics on payroll, benefits, headcount, turnover, and compliance metrics. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or a related field; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR) preferred. Minimum 7 years of HR operations experience, with strong expertise in payroll, benefits, and employment laws. Strong understanding in HR compliance, workers' compensation, and regulatory reporting. Experience managing vendor and carrier relationships, as well as leading open enrollment cycles. Demonstrated ability to draft, revise, and implement HR policies in alignment with legal updates and organizational needs. Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now, a plus. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity. The base salary for this position is between $90,000.00 and $115,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match. This part-time, onsite role will work three days per week and reports directly to the CEO. The VP of HR will oversee a broad and complex HR function supporting staff, student workers, and managers across multiple departments. This executive leader will be responsible for delivering high-quality HR services, including recruitment, employee and labor relations, total rewards management, training and development, workforce planning, workers' compensation, disability coordination, and HRIS management.
