Key Responsibilities: Direct Services: Provide therapy focused on language development, articulation, and communication skills for students with speech-language impairments. Evaluation & Assessment: Screen and assess students for speech and language disabilities, including autism-related communication challenges. Conduct thorough evaluations to determine eligibility for services. ARD Development & Progress Monitoring: Develop and meet with the ARD committee for students with speech and language goals. Track and report on student progress in alignment with the school grading schedule and ARD reviews. Collaboration: Work closely with general and special education teams to support students' academic and communication needs. Provide guidance and counseling to parents, teachers, and staff. Specialized Care: Provide habilitation and prevention services for students with speech, voice, hearing, or language challenges. Offer referrals for additional medical or professional attention as necessary. Screenings & Follow-ups: Conduct routine hearing screenings and provide referrals for students with speech or language concerns. Professional Development & Mentorship: Participate in ongoing professional development. Opportunity to mentor student therapists and new team members, supporting their growth and certification needs. Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Serves as a resource to school staff members in the development of a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement. • Identifies and evaluates students with speech and language impairments. • Provides a therapeutic program to meet individual needs of speech and language impaired children. • Participates in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment. • Participates in the teacher and parent conferences including multidisciplinary conferences, IEP meetings and Annual Reviews. • Develops and implements IEPs for all students eligible for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment. • Team teaches with classroom teachers. • Completes required documentation and reports. • Participates on case study and collaboration teams as needed. • Facilitates curriculum and instructional modifications. • Participates in continuing professional education. • Must have valid Illinois Drivers License.
