Summary:
This temporary (15 month) position performs patient care by assessing patient physical and functional abilities. Based on problems determined, the physical therapist establishes and carries out a plan of care to include patient/family instruction, discharge planning, documentation on the medical record, and communication with physicians and other medical staff. This position helps patients achieve maximum level of physical functioning. This position participates in physical therapy learning / mentorship opportunities with additional responsibilities which may include therapist presentations, physician relation / shadowing activity and research activity.

Direct Patient . Evaluates and treats patients: a. Evaluates patient physical abilities and functional status, creates plan of care and initiates patient treatment after physician referral. b. Carries out plan of care with reassessment and changes to plan of care as appropriate. c. Provides patient & family with medical and exercise-specific education to improve function. d. Collaborates with therapy team members to carry out treatment plan and provide clinical care. e. Supervises PTA in the delivery of care. e. Communicates care plan to physician and communicates on-going care & patient needs. f. Attends multidisciplinary patient care meetings as appropriate. 2. Follows OhioHealth policies related to delivery of clinical Care a. Documents evaluation, plan of care, daily progress toward goals & progress & discharge notes. b. Carries out clinical outcomes processes according to department standards. c. Follows Joint Commission and Department of Health guidelines, as well as Ohio PT laws.

** Summary:**
The position is required to maintain accreditation either by AIUM or ACR for ultrasound reimbursement and quality control. It is necessary for the Supervision, teaching and evaluation of the core competencies of ultrasonography in (but not limited to) the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency training program. This position is required to supervise and coordinate the teaching program on various OhioHealth campuses.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
60% - Update and maintain the Ultrasound training program for the OB/GYN residency program (and other residency programs as needed). Oversee and provide hands on instruction and guidance for all ob/gyn ultrasound procedures, to include Level 1 and !! OB Ultrasounds exams and GYN ultrasound exams. Train and supervise OB/GYN residents in the proper technique and principles in recognize normal anatomy and for detecting anatomical abnormalities. The evaluation of fetal well-being and the proper evaluation of the cervix via transvaginal probe imaging. Provide didactic and technical training to include various aspects of OB.GYNB ultrasound. Provider educational lectures on related ultrasound topics for resident and staff. Participation in weekly OB/GYN ultrsound didactics. Contribute to the evalation of the OB/GYN residents.
20% - Directs and supervises all aspects of ultrasonography teaching program as it relates to women's health patient care. Work collaboratively with Women's Health Center Clinic management to ensure patient care needs are met.
5% - Update and maintain the standard operating procedures for the OB/GYN department ultrasound in conjunction with medical/industry standards.
5% - Use of word processing programs for basic functions such as letter and report writing AND/OR use of spreadsheet software or other applications for basic functions such as: maintaining databases, writing simple reports, creating simple calculations.
4% - Establish and follow quality control standards in ultrasound and monitoring. Ensure compliance and documentation for the department of OB/GYN. Establish and maintain AIUM Accreditation for the OB/GYN clinic. Evaluate new equipment upon request and provide recommendations.
2% - Review and evaluate resident ultrasound examinations on the Labor and delivery unit for quality control and educational progress.
2% - Works in collaboratively with respective Regional Manager/Program Director and Director of Perinatal Education to assure adherence with CMS training standards, compliance with accreditation requirements relating to ultrasound care, developing and implementing practice policies and procedures.
2% - Maintains patient satisfaction and customer service by using listening techniques and excellent verbal skills.

The Resident Companion supports our mission and values by assisting residents in an Assisted Living setting with those activities of daily living in which they are unable to perform without help, fostering at all times residents' independence and freedom of choice.
The Resident Companion's primary responsibilities include:
Provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADL's):
Dressing/undressing: ensures that clothes are clean, appropriate in season, and presentable.
Bathing: provides assistance with personal hygiene (i.e. shaving, dental hygiene, nail care, hair care, etc.).
Mobility: uses various devices that enable resident to ambulate independently (i.e. cane, walker, wheelchair, crutch, etc.).
Dining: meal time reminders, sets up and cleans tables as needed, transports food from buffet to table, waits tables as needed, room service as needed.
Toileting: assists in transfer and dressing, assists in applying incontinence devices.
Laundry services: delivers and picks up bed/bath linen; personal laundry possible. Will come in contact with a variety of laundry chemicals
Health maintenance/monitoring: observes and reports physical/mental changes to Manager or designated nursing staff; conducts room checks and resident rounds; monitors for safety hazards; reports resident related incidents/accidents.
Activity Program: encourages and reminds resident of scheduled programs. Assists with activities as needed.
Emergency Preparedness: responds to and acts appropriately in emergency/disaster situations or drills. Attends mandatory inservices as directed plus enough additional inservices to meet requirements for CNA.
Other duties as assigned.
