Job Requirements:
Education: Graduate from a National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) program. Minimum of an associate degree related to the teaching discipline from an accredited institution, meeting CCAF teaching discipline requirements.
Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Department of Transportation (DOT) curriculum and objectives.
Understanding of advanced trauma treatment, including Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) (preferred but not required).
Experience with pre-hospital care for Air Force Medical Technicians (4N0X1), trauma scenario development, and limited medication usage in primary care.
Certifications:
National certification as an EMT, Advanced EMT (AEMT), or Paramedic through NREMT.
Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of EMS field experience as an EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic.
Licensure/CEUs: Candidates are responsible for maintaining licensure/certifications and completing required continuing education units (CEUs).
Internship: Complete the CCAF teaching internship within 30 days to 12 months of assignment, including:
120 hours of supervised teaching.
30 hours each in curriculum development, test administration/review, and academic counseling.
Job Duties:
Provide course instruction based on the Government-supplied curriculum for EMT and limited primary care.
Teach in diverse environments, including classrooms, labs, and outdoor settings at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Deliver didactic and hands-on training in areas such as:
Anatomy, physiology, cardiac life support, and sanitation.
First aid, shock management, respiratory maintenance, and wound care.
Fractures, burns, chemical injuries, and advanced nursing skills.
Use approved training aids and materials to enhance learning outcomes.
Review and update lesson plans, study guides, tests, and other instructional aids to ensure relevance and accuracy.
Maintain current knowledge of EMT standards, practices, and procedures to support instruction quality.

Job Summary and Qualifications
Provides executive-level leadership by developing, owning, and executing a comprehensive human resources (HR) strategy aligned with the business goals of South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers (STRIC). This role is responsible for building and leading STRIC's internal HR function, transforming it from a currently outsourced model to a strategic, in-house capability.
The Vice President, Human Resources will serve as a key partner to the executive team and Board of Directors, taking primary ownership of designing a workplace culture that attracts, retains, and develops top talent. This leader will create and manage all programs, policies, and practices related to talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, and employee engagement.
A critical initial priority for this role will be to partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to provide expert guidance and project leadership for upcoming executive-level succession planning and transitions.
Essential Job Functions
* Strategic Planning: Conducts a comprehensive audit of all current HR functions, including services outsourced to MHS and other vendors. Develops and presents a multi-year strategic plan and budget for the phased insourcing of key HR capabilities.
* Talent Acquisition: Designs and builds an internal talent acquisition function to manage all exempt and non-exempt recruiting, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding.
* Compensation & Performance: Develops and owns STRIC's compensation philosophy and framework. Designs and implements a modern performance management system focused on continuous feedback and professional development.
* Leadership & Culture: Acts as the primary owner of workplace culture, developing programs to drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
* Succession Planning: Serves as the key executive partner to the CEO and Board of Directors to plan and manage the search, selection, and onboarding process for critical leadership transitions.
* Vendor Management: Manages all external HR-related vendor relationships (including MHS). Develops and monitors service-level agreements (SLAs) and conducts annual cost/benefit analyses to make strategic recommendations on insourcing versus continued outsourcing.
* Organizational Development: Evaluates and advises senior leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and leadership development to ensure the company is structured for future growth.
* Policy & Compliance: Develops and implements all internal HR policies and procedures, creating the STRIC employee handbook and ensuring full compliance with all employment laws.
Minimum Education, Experience, and Training
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. Master's Degree (MBA, MHR, etc.) strongly preferred
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (VP or Director level)
* Demonstrated, hands-on experience building an internal HR function from an outsourced or co-employed model is required
* Proven experience in healthcare or a multi-site service organization
* Direct experience developing and implementing core HR programs: talent acquisition, compensation frameworks, and performance management systems.
* Experience reporting to and advising a CEO and Board of Directors on sensitive matters, including C-suite succession planning.
Certifications:
* SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification required (or ability to obtain within 12 months).

Position Summary The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing all reusable surgical instruments for patient care. The Sterile Processing Technician also provides all needed instruments for surgery and outside departments.
Major Responsibilities:
* Applies the principles of asepsis to ensure the prevention of infection and maintain optimum patient care.
* Demonstrates compliance with the Patient Safety Initiatives, National Patient Safety Goals (i.e. infection control, hand washing, etc.). Follows universal precautions as required by hospital and OSHA policies. • Monitors surgery schedules daily, identifying general, specific and potential needs for all cases.
* Inspects, assembles, and tests general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning. Identifies tray type by contents of instrument tray. Identifies malfunctioning instruments and replaces or reports instruments that need repair or that are missing.
* Assembles instrument packs and trays for sterilization. Wraps, seals and accurately labels items that are to be sterilized. • Controls the entire sterilization process. Receives, dsecontaminates, preps, packs, sterilizes, documents, and stores supplies, instruments, and equipment. Ensures compliance with national standards and recommended practices.
* Operates and maintains all sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, ultrasonic washer, and cart washer. Maintains accurate and complete documentation of all washing, sterilization, daily machine testing, proper testing after a repair of machine, temperature, humidity, air pressure, early release of implants, and eye wash station testing.
* Decontaminates, reprocesses and maintains flexible endoscopes as needed.
* Prepares, assembles and packages all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
* Prepares surgical sets, instruments, and trays according to prescribed procedures, ensuring that all instrumentation is correct and accurate.
* Pulls customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepares case carts.

Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties:
The Ultrasound Technologist (sonographer) performs diagnostic procedures utilizing a background in anatomy, physiology, physics and instrumentation to provide technical information to aid the physician. The sonographer will maintain technical skills needed to perform ultrasound procedures to include abdominal, OB/GYN, venous Doppler, small parts, pediatrics (where applicable) and invasive exams. In addition, the sonographer will maintain department supplies and equipment and will participate in the quality control of the ultrasound department.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
1. Education: ONE of the following:
1. New Hires as of October 1, 2011:
A. Successful completion of training program in either:
1. Ultrasonography
2. Radiologic Technology
3. Vascular Technology
B. Associates of Science or higher degree
2. Current employees:
A. Successful completion of training program in either:

4. Medical Assisting
B. Associates degree or higher degree

3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).

Two (2) years experience as a fulltime ultrasound technologist in a hospital or diagnostic imaging clinic setting preferred.
5. Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
Must have and maintain ONE of the following within the timeframes below:
A. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
i. RDMS- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ABD or OBGYN)
B. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (S)
C. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (VS)
AND ONE of the following:
A. RVT- Registered Vascular Technologist or
B. Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS)
Essential Job Functions:
1. Maintains skills and understanding of innovation in techniques and equipment in medical sonography.
2. Assists physicians in performing ultrasound-guided biopsies and other invasive procedures.
3. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
4. Responsible for the proper use of the Radiology Computer System (scheduling exams, patient tracking, film tracking, proper completion of exams, capture charges).
5. Follows safety policies and procedures applicable to the job, recognizes impending crisis situations and institutes measures (such as adjusting priorities) to prevent further complications.
6. Understands and follows infection control/universal precautions in the performance of all job tasks. Maintains order and cleanliness. Always practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
Additional Job Functions:
1. May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

4. Job Summary and Qualifications
The Social Worker (MSW) is responsible for non-clinical, biopsychosocial assessments and interventions for the inpatient floors and the outpatient emergency department. The MSW performs crisis intervention, patient/family interventions, high-risk screening, focused emotional support, and referrals for financial assistance or other identified resource needs. The MSW assists in post-acute care placement on all discharges, primarily with those patients identified with post-discharge behavioral health and patient assistance/resource needs. The MSW is dedicated to patient and family-centered care that values personal self-determination, prioritization, and engages in creative and compassionate problem-solving. The scope of this role includes intensive care units, Trauma, Oncology, NICU, Transplant, and ED. The MSW responds to physician, non-discharge planning social work consults throughout the facility.
What you will do in this role:
* You will work collaboratively with RN case managers, acute care nurses, physicians, insurance companies, and other staff members to proactively identify and address patient needs.
* You will identify and address barriers to discharge and recovery. These barriers include financial, emotional, psychosocial, medical, and spiritual.
* You will maintain a thorough working knowledge of the rules of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer regulations and processes. You will possess a thorough understanding of managed-care concepts and length-of-stay management relating to patient and organizational fiscal responsibility.
* You will perform thorough assessments and develop appropriate discharge plans for high-risk patients with discharge planning or psychosocial needs.
* You will coordinate and facilitate meetings between the care team and patients/families/caregivers. You will assist patients and families in making difficult decisions while honoring their preferences and values.
* You will intervene with patients/families/caregivers for psychosocial needs, assistance, and support in coping with chronic acute terminal illness. You will engage in consultation, discharge planning, education, counseling, advocacy, and information referrals to meet the emotional, social, and financial aspects of care.
* You will provide emotional support to patients and family members during complex and/or emotionally charged issues, such as end-of-life, terminal illness notifications, death notification (with physician), and crisis interventions.
What qualifications you will need:
* Masters Degree in Social work from an accredited college or university.

* Collaborate with Patient Safety Director and facility leaders to identify and hardwire behavioral norms that promote a culture of safety.
* Assist facility leaders to ensure understanding of and compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals.
* Assist Patient Safety Director in partnering with facility leadership to establish activities that enable and sustain an open and fair environment promoting learning, safe systems, and appropriately managing behavioral choices related to patient safety (e.g. Patient Safety Rounds, Event Response, Disclosure).
* Assist with Quality to complete the NQF Safe Practices section of the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
Patient and Family Engagement Expectations:
* Assist with engagement of patients/families when appropriate in the patient safety program.
* Assist facility leadership and Patient Safety Director in obtaining input from patients/families involved in harm or close call events as appropriate.

* Assist Patient Safety Director with oversite of the management and use of event information to benchmark and track progress to zero avoidable harm.

Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties: The Surgical First Assistant works as a member of the perioperative team under the direction of the surgeon. He/she performs responsibilities of both the Surgical Technologist and the Surgical First Assistant based on department needs and as directed by the unit director or designee. Essential Job Functions:
1. Functions as a surgical first assistant at the direction of and under the appropriate supervision of the attending surgeon; always practices within the limitations of preparation and experience and within the scope allowed by the hospital.
2. A. Consistently functions at the direction of and under direct supervision (physical presence of the attending surgeon in the procedure/treatment room) of the attending surgeon. The surgical assistant scope includes:
* Providing visualization of the operative site through appropriate placement and securing of retractors with or without padding, packing or sponges; digital manipulation of tissue; suctioning, irrigation or sponging; manipulation of suture materials; proper use of body mechanics to prevent obstruction of the surgeon's view.
* Utilizing appropriate permanent and temporary techniques to assist with hemostasis. Permanent hemostasis techniques include clamping and/or cauterizing vessels and tissue, tying and/or ligating clamped vessels or tissue, applying hemostatic clips, or placing hemostatic agents. Temporary hemostasis techniques include applying tourniquets and demonstrating awareness of the indications/contraindications for use with knowledge of side effects of extended use; applying vessel loops, non-crushing clamps, or direct digital pressure.
* Administering post-operative subcutaneous local anesthetic injection
* Utilizing running or interrupted sutures with absorbable or non-absorbable material of wound layers, including muscle and fascia.
* Assisting with placement of implants
* Robotic procedures only: Insertion of subsequent (not initial) trocars. Must have documented training and competency validated (initially within by MHS Medical staff member privileged to perform robotic surgery. The documentation must include directly supervised trocar insertions on a minimum of 5 patients completed within a 12 month period with good patient outcomes.
* Saphenous Vein Harvesting only: May harvest saphenous vein through endoscopic or open technique. Must have documented training and competency validated by a MHS Medical staff member privileged to perform Cardiothoracic surgery. The documentation must include directly supervised saphenous vein harvests on a minimum of 10 patients completed within a 12 month period with good patient outcomes.
B. Under direct or general perioperative supervision (surgeon/proceduralist presence in the perioperative area (pre-op department, perioperative suite, PACU, OR/procedure waiting room) and is immediately available), the surgical assistant scope includes closure of body planes and applies wound dressings per the method indicated by the attending physician:
* Utilizing sub-cuticular closure technique with or without adhesive skin closure strips
* Skin closure with suture, staples and/or spray occlusive material/skin adhesive strips
* Securing drainage systems to tissue
* Application of immobilizing dressing
3. Consistently assists with maintaining the patient's expected physiologic responses to surgery including infection prevention (SCIP measures and practices, maintaining effective disinfection practices, instrument processing, and sterilization).
4. Demonstrates effective communication and works collaboratively with all members of the perioperative team to include active consistent participation in Universal Protocol and timely and accurate sponge and sharp counts to include initiating corrective action as appropriate.
5. Consistently applies a working knowledge of patient pre-operative deficits, risk for intraoperative injuries, and possible post-operative outcomes to assist in optimal patient outcomes. Demonstrates principles of safe patient positioning for best exposure in collaboration with the surgical team using appropriate positioning equipment to ensure padded pressure points, protection from nerve damage and unimpaired circulation.
6. Functions in the role of a Surgical Technician as needed by the department; however, does not concurrently perform as the surgical first assistant and surgical technologist. Wears proper surgical attire, opens sterile packs, instruments, and supplies for each procedure, scrubs, gowns, gloves, and drapes according to established aseptic technique and protocols. Monitors sterile field during procedure and takes appropriate measures to insure integrity of sterile field and maintenance of sterile techniques. Initiates corrective action for any break in technique.

1. May handle, pick up, deliver and/or stock non-controlled medications as directed by a licensed team member.
2. Acts as a preceptor to help with the education of other Surgical First Assistants.
3. Maintains appropriate knowledge and training to use any equipment necessary for care of the patient and ensures is it in working order prior to use.

Job Summary and Qualifications
General Statement of Duties: Working under the supervision and guidance of a Respiratory Therapist, the extern will assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disease processes or respiratory care orders. Primarily responsible for noninvasive respiratory care modalities, maintaining patient records and operations of respiratory care equipment.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Sets up and operates therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable medical products, following specific parameters for treatment.
2. Provides emergency care, including artificial ventilation, external cardiac message, and assists with cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
3. Evaluates requirements for treatment, such as treatment type, mode and duration of therapy, universal precautions, medication and dosage, in accordance with physician orders.
4. Monitors physiological response to therapy, such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, auscultation, and consults with the preceptor and/or shift supervisor for changes in patient status.
5. Reads prescriptions, and reviews patient information to assess the patient's condition.
6. Works as part of a team of physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to manage patient care, enforce safety rules, and ensures adherence to the physician's orders.

3.
