What You Will Do
Practice independently in the community as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
Conducts comprehensive assessment of patients by determining patient needs, develops courses of action including treatment plan and outcomes.
Deliver personalized rehabilitation therapy to patients in their home or care facilities.
Constantly evaluate evolving patient needs and respond with plan of care adjustments.
Qualifications
Minimum of one-year speech language pathology experience or successful completion of probationary period as a VNS Health Rehab Intern
Licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist/Audiologist in New York State
Valid driver's license required for all areas outside the borough of Manhattan
Pay Range per Visit:
If you are applying to the per diem per visit version of this job, the hiring range is as follows: $70- $75 per visit.

Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling as required
Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care
Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients' comfort needs during therapy sessions
Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech language therapy

- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in a one-on-one or small group setting.
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
- Provide training and resources to teachers and staff on strategies to support students with communication challenges.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
- Stay current with research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
- Provide interventions and evaluations to caseload of students with a wide range of disabilities.
- Provide leadership and direction to special education and general education classrooms, focusing on interventions and behaviors
- Establish relationships with consultants from the MISD including, but not limited to, ASD consultants, behavioral consultants, and Early childhood consultants.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable. Extensive Knowledge of ASD,CI, EI eligibilities; including behavior and communication evidence-based practices and supports.
- Strong understanding of speech and language development, disorders, and evidence-based interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
