Qualifications:
Master' s Degree in Communication Disorders or similar
FL SLP License

Role Overview:
As an SLP, you will develop and implement individualized education/treatment programs for students whose ability to communicate has been impacted by developmental differences, disabilities, or injuries. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details:
Schedule: 4 full days per week
Dates: ASAP for 13 weeks, not including winter breaks
Caseload: some kids with more severe disabilities, non-verbal, experience with augmentative communication devices preferred

Key Responsibilities:
Manages and organizes specialized materials, equipment and environment essential to the speech and language program
Provides educationally related communication intervention for students disabled by disorders of language, speech or hearing in a variety of settings as appropriate
Assesses speech and language skills of students suspected of having a communication disorder and consults with teachers in developing IEP goals and objectives
Provides resources, modeling strategies and training to other team members in communication interventions
Communicates regularly the results of individual student assessment and progress with involved school staff (special and general education), parents and where appropriate the student

Under the general supervision of the Principal, the Speech-LanguagePathologist provides speech/language therapy services to students in groups, individually, or through classroom intervention/consultation. These services will be delivered to students who have been properly identified and possess a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides appropriate therapy for speech and/or language needs for the students of the Elementary School.
Provides evaluations and re-evaluations to students who are referred.
Provides consultation to school staff based on the needs of individual students.
Develops a schedule of services that are mutually agreeable to each teacher and program.
Using current IEPs, carries out specified speech and language goals. Also participates in the development of new IEPs when needed for the individual students and new referrals that meet eligibility criteria for the speech/language program.
Provides updates to the Principal, Assistant Principal, or appropriate staff of the speech and language services on a monthly basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution (required).

Prior experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
