Kids Unlimited Learning Academy (KULA) is an early intervention day treatment clinic for children with special needs. Once children are referred to KULA by their primary care physicians, they must receive a developmental screening. Then, they may be scheduled for therapy evaluations at KULA or bring recent therapy evaluation reports done elsewhere. To receive Early Intervention Day Treatment habilitation services, a child must have a documented developmental disability or delay, as shown on the results of an annual comprehensive developmental evaluation and qualify for at least one therapy service. Those services include (but are not limited to) fine motor delays, sensory disorders, gross motor delays, speech-language delays, hearing disorders, feeding disorders, developmental delays, cognitive delays and medical needs.
Children are placed in treatment rooms based on their developmental needs and ages. Our treatment rooms are adequately staffed with teachers and teachers' assistants and are designed to celebrate the cultural differences of the children and families we serve. KULA has many licensed occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-languagepathologists on staff to provide needed care to the children who qualify for therapy services. And, KULA has nurses on staff to serve children with medical needs.
KULA's services also include developmental/psychological testing by a licensed psychologist, nutritional evaluations and consultations, and audiological evaluations. Our whole treatment team works together and with our patients' families to make sure each child's needs are met.
KULA typically treats children from birth to Kindergarten. However, we try to expand our services during the summer months to include elementary school-aged children with special needs. If you have a child who may benefit from our services, we would love to hear from you.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Certification:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university.
Current Arkansas license as a Speech-LanguagePathologist.
A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association (ASHA) or completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Experience/ Knowledge required:
One year of successful experience in a similar position or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/ Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
Ability to work with children between the ages of birth to 7 who are at risk.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of databases, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.

How you'll contribute
The SpeechLanguagePathologist evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders, supporting patient recovery and communication improvement.
Assess speech, language, and swallowing abilities.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs.
Provide education to patients and families regarding therapy goals.
Document evaluations, treatments, and patient progress accurately.
Collaborate with healthcare teams on care coordination.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Experience: Experience in acute or rehab setting preferred.
License: Current SLP license and ASHA certification.
Certifications: CPR certification required.

Responsibilities
Therapeutic Services
Deliver individualized and small-group speech and language therapy to students with IEPs across K-8.
Address a broad range of communication areas including:
Receptive and expressive language
Articulation and phonological processing
Fluency and voice
Social-pragmatic language and conversational skills
Design and implement Social Club programming for Autistic students using Social Thinking methodologies.
Assessment and Documentation
Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations, screenings, and assessments to identify communication disorders.
Develop, write, and update IEP goals and present levels of performance in collaboration with the IEP team.
Maintain clear, accurate, and confidential records including session notes, progress reports, and compliance documentation.
Ensure therapy and documentation adhere to IDEA regulations and school policies.
Collaboration and Consultation
Provide support to general education and special education staff with classroom strategies and interventions for at-risk or struggling students.
Participate actively in student support meetings, IEP meetings, and family consultations.
Work closely with school leaders, teachers, and other specialists to ensure holistic support for students.
Professional Development & Growth
Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings and regular supervision with an experienced SLP team manager.
Participate in ongoing school-wide professional development sessions.
Engage with outside experts and Social Thinking consultants through monthly supervision and collaboration.
Take advantage of $250 CEU reimbursement and opportunities to supervise graduate-level SLP students.
Qualifications

GENERAL PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Conducts appropriate evaluations and identifies equipment needs relative to speech/language function.
Identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient's function.
Administers speech therapy program utilizing specialized therapeutic technique and/or equipment.
Recommends communication devices/aids as indicated.
Confers with referring physician and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care contributes to the total plan of care.
Participates in case conferences, in-services and other meetings required ensuring coordinated and comprehensive care, as appropriate.
Prepares and submits notes per organization policy.
Maintains clinical competency in speechlanguage pathology practice and theory.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a current and valid therapy license in the state employed.
Possesses a degree that includes an internship from an approved Master's program in Speech-Language Pathology, or as required by applicable law and/or regulation.
Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
Familiarity with general use and functions of the computer, including starting programs, using files, apps and navigating screens. Use of internet, e-mail, and understanding confidentiality of user names and passwords. Experience with Apple iPads and iPods a plus.
Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order. Some travel may be required.
Must be capable of performing the job functions of this position with or without accommodations.
