Job Description
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech and language services to meet the individual needs of students with oral communication and speech/language impairments. The position is responsible for screening and assessment, goal development, and planning/implementing appropriate speech and language treatment services to maximize student learning.

Skills, Knowledge:
Determines a student's needs based on assessment provided by the student's school or outside agencies.
Conducts formal and/or informal assessments necessary to develop an appropriate diagnostic-prescriptive program.
Conveys pertinent information to appropriate personnel, including referrals to community agencies.
Determines if students are eligible for services in the areas of articulation/phonology, abnormal voice, fluency, and language.
Provides written reports for parents and applicable personnel after assessment is completed.
Develops and implements an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
Reviews IEPs at least annually.
Writes progress reports.
Provides information and assistance to parents.
Schedules and provides individual and/or group therapy as determined by the IEP team.
Meets and confers with administrators and teachers about the methods and techniques for dealing with special problems and modifying education programs for speech/language/hearing problems.
Arranges necessary materials and equipment for speech therapy activities.
Assumes responsibility for implementation of Standard School District policies, State Department of Education regulations, and Federal regulations related to speech and language therapy services.
Pursues professional growth through conferences, workshops, and coursework.
Pay Range: $80,898.00 - $125,345.71. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform assessment management of dysphagia including bedside swallowing evaluation, modified barium swallow study; assign appropriate diet levels to avoid aspiration.

Job Posting: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Full-Time Starting Rate: $60/hour Linwood Meadows Care Center, a leading skilled nursing facility in Visalia, CA, is seeking a Full-Time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our compassionate and collaborative rehab team. Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating and treating residents with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This role ensures timely, effective, and compassionate treatment aligned with physician orders and facility policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients within 24 hours or 1 business day of physician referral
Develop treatment plans and obtain physician approval
Administer treatments per the approved plan of care
Supervise SLP Assistants and CFY clinicians in patient care activities
Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team regarding patient status and progress
Attend and participate in Patient Care Conferences, UR meetings, and staff in-services
Document evaluations, daily notes, progress notes, recertifications, and discharge summaries per state and payer requirements
Provide caregiver and staff education for post-discharge maintenance programs
Ensure compliance with facility policies and the State Practice Act
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Speech Language Pathology required; Master's or Doctorate preferred
Current California SLP license in good standing
Strong proficiency with electronic documentation (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)
Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organizational skills
Ability to supervise CFY clinicians and collaborate with restorative staff
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, pushing/pulling, hearing, and speaking
Occasional lifting of 100+ lbs. and physical mobility for hands-on care
Work environment is typically quiet to moderate in noise

Job Responsibilities
* Conducting ethically and legally defensible CA school-based services

Requirements
