Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.
Provides in-services to agency staff upon request of supervising nurse.
Sends the supervising nurse and/or the physician a written summary report on patient's condition at least every 60 days.

The Department of Epidemiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Speech Pathologist/Audiologist Specialist 2 to join their team. The Speech Pathologist/Audiologist Specialist 2 provides professional speech and language evaluation services as a member of the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Diagnostic and Prevention Network (FASDPN), a statewide clinical, research, and training program housed within the University of Washington's Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD).
This position participates as part of an interdisciplinary diagnostic team providing comprehensive evaluations for individuals with suspected Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and related neurodevelopmental disabilities. The clinic operates in person on Fridays, with two patient evaluations conducted per clinic day (one in the morning, one in the afternoon).
**Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for patients ages 1-22 years with complex neurodevelopmental profiles, including those affected by prenatal alcohol exposure.
+ Evaluate hearing, language, cognition, swallowing, and speech abilities using standardized diagnostic tools.
+ Score and interpret assessment results and identify areas of impairment.
+ Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to contribute diagnostic findings and collaborate on intervention recommendations.
+ Share results and recommendations with caregivers and patients in a clear and compassionate manner.
+ Compose the speech-language section of the final medical summary note for each patient.
+ Collaborate with other professionals; including physicians, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, audiologists, and educators-to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
+ Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with UW and clinic standards.
+ Participate in program development, process improvement, or quality initiatives as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**
