Key Responsibilities:
Manages and organizes specialized materials, equipment and environment essential to the speech and language program
Provides educationally related communication intervention for students disabled by disorders of language, speech or hearing in a variety of settings as appropriate
Assesses speech and language skills of students suspected of having a communication disorder and consults with teachers in developing IEP goals and objectives
Provides resources, modeling strategies and training to other team members in communication interventions
Communicates regularly the results of individual student assessment and progress with involved school staff (special and general education), parents and where appropriate the student

This position also includes an opportunity to earn up to a $250 (up to $3,000 per year) monthly incentive for providers who work 60 hours or more in a pay period (approximately every 2 weeks) and meet other eligibility criteria. Evaluate Patients for rehabilitation services within 24 to 48 hours of physician's orders.
Develop effective treatment plans.
Treat patients according to the treatment plan of care.
Communicate with Physician, Clinical Managers and other health care team members, patient and/or family and facility staff any pertinent information concerning patient's progress, problems and plans.
Participate in Care Conference Meetings and Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.

Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance programs.

The Speech-LanguagePathologist provides services to students, staff, and families that improve and develop the use of speech and language for eligible students with disabilities.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Conducts evaluations related to language, articulation, fluency, and/or voice for students with suspected disabilities and students already eligible for special education services.
Provides direct one-on-one and group speech and language services to eligible students with disabilities.
Provides consultation to staff and parents/guardians regarding speech and language services, including use of augmentative communication systems and devices related to the individual needs of students.
Develops and writes annual goals and short-term instructional objectives for students assigned to the caseload.
Attends and participates in Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) and Individualized Education Program Team (IEPT) meetings as requested.
Compiles and maintains records, written reports and other documentation for students assigned to the caseload.
Works as a team member with instructional and ancillary staff to refer eligible students for speech and language services.
Works as a team member with instructional staff and parents/guardians to refer eligible students to outside agencies and other community resources.
Assumes primary responsibility for requisitioning and maintaining equipment and supplies for speech and language services.
Provides in-service information and training to staff for the integration of communication supports into daily classroom instruction.
Consults, counsels, and collaborates with parents, school personnel, students and appropriate community agencies regarding behavioral and educational concerns developed in a multi-tiered system of support.

Other Duties:
Drives to and from district sites, constituent school districts, and students' homes as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree required in speech-language pathology or a valid Michigan teacher's certificate with full approval in the speech and language impaired required. A valid Speech-LanguagePathologist license from the State of Michigan. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is required.
Clinical fellows with Educational Limited Speech-LanguagePathologist license from the State of Michigan will be considered, on-site clinical fellowship supervision is available.
Experience:
Previous experience with students with severe handicaps and augmentative communication systems and devices preferred.
Skills/Other:

Minimum Requirements:
Able to commit to 15 or more hours per week
Hold an active, unrestricted, and valid SLP license in your state of residence and Michigan, in good standing
An Education Certificate, TSSLD in good standing
Hold CCCs: Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency
Full-time resident of the United States
School experience or experience working with school aged pediatric population
Experience and comfortability with the use of various types of technology
Follow Huddle Up documentation guidelines for evaluation reports and daily SOAP notes
Participate in IEP and team meetings, serve as a case manager or process coordinator
Prepare progress reports as requested by the school and complete medicaid billing if necessary
Compensation:
This is a W2 employment opportunity. The exact compensation band is based on where the provider resides. Compensation for providers living in CA, HI, and NY is $44-$54 an hour; AK, CO, CT, DC, DE, IL, IN, MA, MD, NJ, NM, OH, PA, RI, TX, VA, and WA is $44-$54 an hour; AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, KS, KY, MI, MN, MT, NC, NH, NV, OK, OR, SC, UT, WI, and WY is $44-$49 an hour; AL, ID, LA, ME, MO, MS, ND, NE, SD, TN, VT, and WV is $44-$47 an hour. This position also includes an opportunity to earn up to a $250 (up to $3,000 per year) monthly incentive for providers who work 60 hours or more in a pay period (approximately every 2 weeks) and meet other eligibility criteria. Exact hourly rate will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's skills, geographical location, and other qualifications.

The Speech/LanguagePathologist provides competent, courteous and respectful evaluation, treatment and supervision of patients for difficulties in communicating, problem solving, cognitive processing and swallowing and scope of practice as outlined by ASHA and licensure laws in respective state; communicates with families, physicians and other healthcare team members while maintaining impeccable, professional documentation of services in the medical record. The Speech/LanguagePathologist also conducts in-services and training for facility staff on an ongoing basis in restorative and functional maintenance programs. This position reports to the Therapy Program Manager and ultimately the Director of Operations. CRI's Speech/LanguagePathologists model and promote competent, courteous and professional services to internal and external customers to develop and maintain a competitive advantage. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Evaluate Patients for rehabilitation services within 24 to 48 hours of physician's orders.
Develop effective treatment plans.
Treat patients according to the treatment plan of care.
Communicate with Physician, Clinical Managers and other health care team members, patient and/or family and facility staff any pertinent information concerning patient's progress, problems and plans.
Participate in Care Conference Meetings and Interdisciplinary Team Meetings.
Participate in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility.
Record evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, provide objective input for discharge summaries and complete daily billing of services per policy and procedure.
Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance programs.
Participate in discharge planning.
Achieve or exceed the minimum productivity standard established by CRI.
Recommend any needed equipment to the appropriate personnel which would facilitate improved delivery of clinical services.
Report any problems with department equipment to appropriate personnel.
Act as a clinical supervisor for affiliating Speech/Language Pathology Graduate Clinicians for area Universities and Colleges.
Comply with state specific Speech Pathology Licensure Standards.
Maintain an organized working environment.
Consistently portray the mission, vision, core values, cornerstones and professional image of Concept Rehab, exercise good judgment in the performance of the job.
