Speech Language Pathologist Key Responsibilities:
Assessments & Evaluations: Conduct compliant, formalized and dynamic assessments to determine educational eligibility/level of functioning. Complete observations and evaluations, and manage annual and triennial reviews. Develop and maintain compliant IEPs and participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
Treatment Planning: Develop and coordinate treatment plans with interdisciplinary team members to ensure educational benefit.
Consultation & Instruction: Consult with team members, including families, to maximize generalization of target skill sets. May oversee and support the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA), including monitoring supervision hours and promoting ongoing professional development.

Speech Language Pathologist Qualifications:

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Speech Therapist at Community Hospital San Bernardino, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll increase our patients' independence by helping them eat and drink safely, improve memory or cognitive issues, or communicate their needs and wishes more clearly.
No two days are the same here. Our Speech Therapists work with a team of dedicated physicians, therapists, and other health professionals to ensure a safe diet for patients who may experience swallowing issues by performing modified barium swallow studies. These patients have been through a trauma of some sort and most don't feel well. You'll ensure they won't be hungry while they heal and can bring tremendous relief to the patient and their family. You'll also do cognitive evaluations to determine if a patient can make decisions or if any communication issues result from cognitive impairment or speech impairment. Patients range in age from newborns to geriatric.

Speech Language Pathologist Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications
AA Degree from accredited Speech Language Pathology Assistant program or Bachelor's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communications Disorders, or a combination of training, educations and experience to perform the job successfully.
1-2 years' experience working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Possess current licensure from the state Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers and maintain good standing.
Knowledgeable of evidence based practices found to benefit children with Autism.
Demonstrated knowledge in speech language therapy, transdisciplinary early-intervention theories, and rehabilitation principles and practice.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a per diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. In this role, you will:
Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Develop individualized care plans to maximize patient outcomes
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
Qualifications:
Current California SLP license
Experience in post-acute or skilled nursing settings preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills

Comments and Other Information
12 years of service credit places credentialed candidates on step 13 of one of the highest paid districts in San Bernardino County. PLUS fully District paid induction program! The District will offer a six-thousand dollar ($6,000) sign-on bonus. A newly hired certificated bargaining unit member shall receive $6,000 paid over three (3) years. Payment of teh sign-on bonus will be paid monthly at $200 per month for ten months each year. Sign-on bonus shall be paid on a pro-rated basis depending on the start date.

Therapist responsibilities include:
Assessing patients to diagnose the nature and extent of impairment and analyzes speech, language, and oral motor skills
Developing therapy and treatment plans for speech disorders
Implementing standardized tests for accurate diagnosis of communication disorders
Establishing treatment goals and offering home programs to support families
Collaborating with OT's & PT's to ensure consistency among disciplines of treatment
Supervision of SLPA's, CF's
