What Does A Speech Pathology Assistant Do At Catholic Health Initiatives

* Administers a formal patient evaluation and treatment based on professional guidelines and protocols.
* Provides patient and family education concerning the disease process and remedial home programs with the goal of increasing independence in self-care skills.
* Documents formal patient assessment, course of treatment and discharge summary.
* Documents patients outcomes.
* Provides written reports for physicians, case managers and for reimbursement needs as required.
* Provides supervision and direction of department support staff, students and volunteers.
* Communicates to all in a positive and professional manner that promotes trust and teamwork.
* Participates in department quality improvement functions, annual safety education programs and creates a safe work environment for all patients and staff.
* Complies with established system, hospital and departmental policies, promoting the mission and vision of Alegent Health.
* Demonstrates competency in working with patients of all ages and across the lifespan.
* Participates in all safety, security and infection control programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by the department.
* Hours: Required 2
* weekend days per month and PRN weekday hours.
