Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
* Assists with patient transfers and communicates with patient utilizing high service standards/behaviors.
* Communicates with the health care team; effective communication regarding room needs, necessary follow-up by intraoperative team.
* Facilitates adequate stocking of emergency supply stock and specialty section stock to ensure accessibility for patient care needs.
* Maintains high level of supply organization to ensure that inventory is appropriately managed and accessible to the health care team.
* Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned by the Surgical Support Services Supervisor and/or other member of the Perioperative leadership team.
* Partners with anesthesia services to ensure practitioners have access to required supplies for patient care delivery.
* Performs room and department decontamination as recommended by CDC, AORN, ASA, KUHA and manufacturer's guidelines.
* Performs task related to pulling supplies and instruments to adequately and accurately prepare for cases; tasks include quality control mechanisms to ensure successful case pulls.
* Provides resources to staff during surgical cases to ensure that the team has the tools and equipment to perform surgical duties with minimal unnecessary interruption.
* Reviews and follows processes for acquiring, storing and handling surgical equipment in an organized, efficient manner according to division guidelines.
* Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

PURPOSE: The Support Services Technologist provides a wide range of in-depth support activities to ensure the proper configuration, functionality, and on-going maintenance of technology devices. The Support Services
Technologist is required to be on-site and work closely with clients, faculty, staff, and students to resolve
software and hardware related issues and provide excellent customer service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware related issues related to the usability and/or
function of devices; this includes but is not limited to malfunctions associated with the internal
components of devices, network connectivity, peripheral devices, software applications, and security
settings.
Assist in the development, maintenance, and distribution of complex software images for various
devices, including desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.
Use problem solving skills to implement temporary and/or permanent solutions for reported or
assumed client issues with the goal of restoring client functionality as soon as possible.
Frequently provide accurate and timely updates of documented requests using the ITS service desk
ticketing system.
Install, configure, and update software and hardware components for clients as needed or requested.
Provide technical support and guidance to clients in person, over the phone, or using remote software.
Test and evaluate new technologies and devices for compatibility and usability.
Document and maintain records of support activities, procedures, and best practices.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Services Technologists may be expected to assist Helpdesk staff to provide coverage and/or
additional support when needed and/or required.
Provide additional support to higher-tiered staff when needed and/or required.
Participate in training and professional growth opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and
skills.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Client Services Manager or the CIO.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of previous experience assisting customers, clients, and/or end-users with technology
issues.
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software programs, and network related troubleshooting.
Experience researching, diagnosing, explaining, and resolving technology issues.
Ability to communicate well and work with end users to help solve their IT problems in person, over
the phone or using remote software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to follow instructions and adhere to policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, credit hour equivalent, coursework, training, and/or professional development in or
related to computer science, computer information systems, networking, and customer relationship
management.
3-5 years of previous experience assisting customers, clients, and/or end-users with technology issues.
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware, software programs, and network related
troubleshooting.
Intermediate knowledge of all University supported operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS,
Linux, iOS, and Android.
Mac OS skills to troubleshoot and support within the campus infrastructure.
Certifications, licenses, or professional affiliations in or related to IT support, such as CompTIA A+, ITF+,
Core 1 and/or Core 2 certification.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:
Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and devices.
Knowledge of best practices and standards for IT support and service delivery.
Knowledge of the University's mission, vision, values, and goals.

Supervise and maintain the daily operation of repair, and installation of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, services, and equipment for the district. Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of all air conditioning refrigeration systems in district facilities.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Assist HVAC Supervisor with all day-to-day operations of the HVAC department including the repair and maintenance of all HVAC equipment, scheduling all HVAC department work orders, locating and purchasing of all parts and material to complete the work orders.
* Make sure all work orders are completed on a timely basis and time and parts are reviewed and completely accounted for and turned in for posting in the work request system.
* Recruiting, training, governing HVAC technician's activities, advising and counseling employees when needed.
* Diagnose and repair malfunctions in various types of heating and air conditioning systems, including rooftop equipment.
* Give contracts/proposals for outside contractors to the Air Conditioning Supervisor for approval.
* Report major findings to Air Conditioning Supervisor on a daily basis both verbal and or written.
* Follow chain of command for all proposals or contracts and related departmental issues.
* Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring.
* Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and piping according to specifications and code.
* Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to wiring schematics.
* Maintain Freon dispensing records to meet federal requirements.
* Assist energy manager to complete energy conservation surveys to realize most efficient, cost-effective use of HVAC energy.
* Receive and complete work orders.
* Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates.
* Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
* Maintain inventory of district-owned tools, equipment, and materials.
* Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
* Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects.
* Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures.
* Respond to emergency calls as needed.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance and Custodial Director or his designee.
* Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.

EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum five years' service and repair work on HVAC equipment, plus minimum one-year supervising HVAC repair personnel.
* Job experience shall include all types of equipment from window units to large tonnage chilled and hot water systems. Complete working knowledge of various energy management systems, including all types of air distribution systems (Variable Air Volume, multi-zone, etc.) and all types of controls used in HVAC systems
* Must be able to trouble shoot and repair all types of energy management equipment within the district and have working knowledge of pneumatic and electronic controls, calibration and set up utilizing computer programs related to HVAC systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
* High school diploma or GED
* Valid Texas driving license
* Type Universal Certification per the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Federal Clean Air Action Section-608
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Ability to maintain and repair all types of HVAC equipment as well as able to train and supervise HVAC technicians
* Basic computer skills in database, word processor and spreadsheet applications and programming for Direct Digital Control applications
