Title Surgical Support Service Tech Days - Full Time Bell Hospital / Career Interest: The Surgical Support Services Technician, under direction of supervisor or other member of the management team is responsible for ensuring that the surgical services team has access to supplies/instrumentation in a timely manner; provide efficient and customer focused service to Perioperative Services team including team members, leadership and medical staff and to patients/visitors; assists in transfers of patients; provides customer-focused service to the department for accurate and efficient surgical services supply support.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
* Assists with patient transfers and communicates with patient utilizing high service standards/behaviors.
* Communicates with the health care team; effective communication regarding room needs, necessary follow-up by intraoperative team.
* Facilitates adequate stocking of emergency supply stock and specialty section stock to ensure accessibility for patient care needs.
* Maintains high level of supply organization to ensure that inventory is appropriately managed and accessible to the health care team.
* Participates in projects and performs other duties as assigned by the Surgical Support Services Supervisor and/or other member of the Perioperative leadership team.
* Partners with anesthesia services to ensure practitioners have access to required supplies for patient care delivery.
* Performs room and department decontamination as recommended by CDC, AORN, ASA, KUHA and manufacturer's guidelines.
* Performs task related to pulling supplies and instruments to adequately and accurately prepare for cases; tasks include quality control mechanisms to ensure successful case pulls.
* Provides resources to staff during surgical cases to ensure that the team has the tools and equipment to perform surgical duties with minimal unnecessary interruption.
* Reviews and follows processes for acquiring, storing and handling surgical equipment in an organized, efficient manner according to division guidelines.
* Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Purpose
Perform journey-level locksmithing work including installation, maintenance, inspection, and servicing of locking systems and keys on all types of doors and equipment at The University of Texas at Austin, JJ Pickle Research campuses, and other University-owned locations.
Responsibilities
Install, service, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain various mechanical and electronic lock types while working independently or as part of a team. Perform rekey services, including key origination, lock cylinder pinning, and installation as requested by departments while closely adhering to key security policies and hardware standards.
Cut keys by code and duplicate keys using various types of key-cutting machinery. Stamp, engrave, and file keys to ensure the safety and security of campus keys and locks. Maintain records of key recipients and respective key codes. Track and update the status of all work orders in the electronic work order system (UT Works), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Follow written and verbal instructions. Maintain professionalism in interactions with UT personnel, students, clients, and stakeholders. Keep supervisor, customer, and other involved project contacts up to date on work order status by providing clear, concise, and necessary communication by email, phone, and in-person conversations.
Assist with acquiring necessary project materials and managing project inventory. Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations.
Interpret and work from drawings and specifications for assigned projects and comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
Grant access to areas during emergency and routine situations by picking locks, when necessary.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area. Monitor and service machinery and tools for safe operation and work efficiency. Conduct audits of inventory levels and advise supervisor of needs.
Attend and participate in crew and department meetings. Drive University-owned vehicles. Complete all required departmental trainings.
Other related duties as assigned, including working with other departments. Occasional overtime is required to support organizational goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. At least 3 years of field experience as a working locksmith with a strong customer service background. Must have strong attention to detail with problem-solving abilities. Required to possess and maintain a valid Class "C" Texas driver's license. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Driving Required
