Patrols assigned areas of hospital campus to maintain an orderly and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Enforces Hospital policies and procedures, and applicable local and state laws. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron (CHMCA).
Responsibilities:
1. Actively patrol assigned area of jurisdiction on foot or in a vehicle, checking buildings and surrounding areas for criminal activity or unsafe conditions.
2. Working independently with minimal supervision, respond to all assigned calls for police services, including, but not limited to; violent persons, hazardous situations, medical and mental health emergencies, and non-criminal assistance to the campus community.
3. Knowledge and adherence of department policies, procedures, as well as City, State, and Federal law.
4. Observe traffic hazards and conditions, and recommend corrective actions, investigate traffic accidents, enforce traffic laws and parking violations, assist motorists with disabled vehicles, and direct traffic.
5. Ability to effectively communicate and use police radio, computer, email, and telephone.
6.Interact with diverse populations with respect and dignity of cultural norms and practices.
7.Make arrests for violations of laws or ordinances, prepare and file necessary court documents, testify in court, transport prisoners.
8.Interview complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects, analyze report information to enhance enforcement, investigative or safety efforts and prepare written reports in the record management system.
9.Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain certifications, enhance skills, and uphold best practices in law enforcement.
10. Engage in community policing initiatives, fostering positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, and collaborate to resolve safety concerns and enhance community trust.
11. Perform any other assigned duties/tasks related to the needs of the department, meet and maintain any performance standards established for the position.

Education and Experience

7. Successfully complete a thorough background investigation.
8. Demonstrate psychological fitness commensurate with the role of a police officer, evaluated by a psychologist designated by the Department of Public Safety Director and Chief.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage President's schedule and office activities including the ********************* email account.
* Organize, manage, and implement key events including commencement, all-institutional meetings, Board of Trustees meetings, and events at the President's residence.
* Prepare and disseminate agendas and meeting minutes for the President's leadership team meetings, Board of Trustees meetings, and other meetings as needed.
* Welcome visitors, direct phone calls and correspondence to appropriate resources.
* Arrange and confirm presidential travel and conference registrations.
* Compose reports and various correspondences to internal and external constituents.
* Coordinate logistics, materials, and communications for Board of Trustee meetings and activities. Collect reports from vice presidents and consolidate into a cohesive Board report, disseminating materials to Board members.
* Collaborate with Chief of Staff to strengthen Board of Trustees relations, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering effective communication between President and Board members.
* Gather and organize briefings, background materials, and key stakeholder information for presidential meetings and events.
* Assists with development and management of the budgets under control of the President's Office by maintaining records, producing financial reports, approving expenditures, completing budget transfers, expense reporting, and reviewing vice president's purchasing card transactions.
* Supervise presidential interns and/or other office assistants and coordinate their schedules, projects, and hours.
* Assist Chief of Staff and Academic Affairs Coordinator/Executive Assistant to the Provost as needed.
Required Qualifications
* Associate degree in Office Administration or similar program strongly preferred. High School diploma/GED with some higher education credit is required.
* Minimum of five (5) years relevant clerical, administrative, and/or managerial experience, preferably with an upper-level administrator.
* Requires comprehensive administrative experience, exceptional management and public relations skills, and broad knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
* Performs duties of a sensitive and confidential nature that require discretion, independent judgment and decision-making skills.
* Must be detail-oriented, calm under pressure, able to multi-task, prioritize, and demonstrate excellent organizational, follow up, and verbal and written communication skills.
* Candidate must be proficient in the use of technology platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and have the ability to instruct Board members on their usage.
* Must be proficient with media presentation platforms.
* Must be able to create and edit Excel files, PowerPoints, PDFs.
* Ability to work indoors in moderately stressful environment.
* Requires availability to work some evenings and weekends.

Prepares and applies chemicals and fertilizers as needed for pest control, weed elimination, and to ensure proper turf growth. Purchases, operates, and maintains equipment. Establishes and implements work procedures to ensure grounds are properly maintained (e.g., turf fertilization and mowing schedules, course irrigation procedures, equipment maintenance schedules, weed control activities, etc.). Inspects course two to three times daily for improvements and necessary changes.
Assists with the development of recommendations concerning rules, regulations, and policies. Coordinates with clubhouse staff on golf outings and tournaments. Ensures the safety of patrons and visitors. Assists with special events, displays, and exhibits. Inspects turf for damage, diseases, etc., and recommends proper corrective action.
Supervises all park personnel assigned to the respective park (e.g., schedules and assigns work, evaluates performance, approves leave requests, recommends hiring and discipline, recommends training; resolves employee concerns, etc.).
Establishes priorities of projects and directs implementation; evaluates the effectiveness of operations and maintenance, and initiates adjustments (new procedures, timeframes, reporting, etc.). Prepares specifications for new equipment and instructs employees on the proper operation and use of equipment.
Participates in the development and administration of the park budget. While utilizing trauma-informed care, assist clients upon shelter entrance with required paperwork, continued assistance throughout their shelter stay by providing supplemental case management, and assist in communication and coordination with various agencies to secure appointments and resources.
3. Provide a level of support necessary to ensure all clients experience an improved quality of life while in our shelters.
4. Use a strength-based approach to help clients in working towards their goals of obtaining independent living.
5. Accompany clients to appointments, as needed.
6. Organize, plan and lead groups for clients in shelter to help promote positive interactions and group work (i.e. affirmation boards, book club, yoga, etc.), on a voluntary basis, when time allows.
7. Complete daily administrative duties such as answering phone, directing inbound calls, keeping office clean and organized, tracking supply lists and facility needs, completing check requests and therapeutic programming attendance of clients.
8. Maintain facility documents and records and ensure all requirements to operate a facility are being met, such as conducting fire drills, kitchen temperatures, and other facility needs.
9. Prepare rooms and meals (as needed) for clients.
10. Work with team members to foster a positive working environment.

12. Attend staff meetings and training courses as required by management.
