About the Position

Job Summary
Loudoun County Fire and Rescue is currently seeking qualified applicants to establish an eligibility pool for the position of Firefighter/EMT. Selected candidates are expected to provide skilled emergency and non-emergency related services, including, but not limited to: fire suppression, basic and advanced pre-hospital emergency medical care, hazardous materials incident response, technical rescue operations, life safety, public education program delivery, and other duties, as assigned.
All candidates will be required to successfully complete a Fire-Rescue Recruit School before assignment to a fire and rescue station. Generally, traditional recruit schools last approximately six (6) to seven (7) months and accelerated recruit schools last approximately 12 weeks which may be offered based on Department discretion and qualified candidate availability. While in Recruit School, Recruits will be assigned to a 40-hour work week. Upon successful completion of Recruit School, and considered minimum staffing, Recruits transition to Probationary Firefighters/EMT's and will then move to a 48- hour work week. This schedule equates to 24 hours on shift, 48 hours off shift with an assigned "Kelly day". (Kelly Day- A regularly scheduled day off at a scheduled interval to ensure a consistent 48-hour average work schedule). Employees' salaries will remain the same upon transition from a 40-hour schedule to a 48-hour schedule.
ALS Benefit: We are seeking Advanced Life Support (ALS) Providers to join our department. Upon local authorization following successful completion of Recruit School, an Intermediate or Paramedic will become eligible for a $10,000 one-time, lump sum incentive, in addition to an ALS Specialty Pay Adjustment. The current ALS Specialty Pay levels, in addition to base salary are as follows: Advanced (A-EMT) - $7,000, Intermediate - $12,500, and Paramedic - $15,000.
Education Benefit: The starting salary of Firefighter (F1), Step-1 is $62,000. LCFR's Education Benefit offers additional compensation for candidates who possess a four (4) year degree or higher. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree will start at Step 2 ($65,100.00), and a Master's Degree at Step 3 ($68,355.00).
Experience Benefit: Applicants with career fire and rescue experience from Departments with an established recruit training academy will receive year-for-year credit 1 step. Effective 7/1/2025, they are eligible for 2 steps credit. Applicants with career fire and rescue experience from other jurisdictions without recruit training experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applicants who completed an LC-CFRS Volunteer Fire School Program and are active LC-CFRS Operational Volunteer Members will receive one (1) Step for every two (2) full years of Volunteer Member experience up to 1 step credit. Effective 7/1/2025, applicants will receive up to 2 step credits. Step credits earned for career and volunteer experience may not be combined.
Applicants may receive both educational and experience step credits. Total step credits may not exceed placement of Step 8.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, must hold a valid driver's license, and possess a High School Diploma or GED by time of hire.

Job Summary
Loudoun County's Planning & Zoning Department is seeking qualified applicants to join the Zoning Enforcement Team as a Zoning Inspector. The Zoning Enforcement Team strives to make sure properties within the county are in conformity with the Zoning Ordinances and specific Board-adopted chapters of the Virginia Maintenance Code. The position involves conducting field investigations, case management, and resolution of violations of the Loudoun County Zoning Ordinance, Virginia Property Maintenance Code and several codified (local) ordinances.

Job Summary
The CPS Evening Shift I&A Specialist will be responsible for responding to emergency situations and providing crisis intervention, as well as investigating serious reports of abuse or neglect-including sexual abuse, human trafficking, and out-of-family incidents. The role involves conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families by interviewing children, parents, guardians, and collateral contacts. Using a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, the candidate will evaluate risk and safety, develop safety and service plans, and ensure the well-being of children while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulations, including documentation standards for completeness and timeliness.
This position requires agility and resilience, as it involves urgent, high-stakes decision-making to ensure child safety. The ideal candidate will help foster a supportive, team-oriented environment and demonstrate the ability to motivate and promote collaboration among colleagues. The work is conducted in a progressive, change-sensitive setting that demands adaptability to shifting priorities, goals, and community needs.

Job Summary

Job Summary

Job Summary

Job Summary
The Office of the Loudoun County Commissioner of the Revenue is seeking a Commercial Supervising Appraiser. The Supervising Appraiser will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the commercial appraiser team.
Candidates should be seasoned professionals with significant appraisal, ad valorem tax, and supervisory experience. Candidates must be able to use and defend commercial valuation practices including the collection and processing of data related to sales and construction costs and be able to understand and reconstruct income and expense surveys. Additionally, candidates should have familiarity with land use concepts, zoning, proffer packages, development plans, and site plans as well as legal documents such as leases, purchase and sale agreements, and condominium declarations.
Must be able to direct the maintenance of required files and records, prepare reports, correspondence and other written materials, supervise and train assigned personnel, and complete any valuation assignment. Comprehensive knowledge of appraisal principles, practices, and techniques related to the assessment of real estate is required.
The successful candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of applicable state and local laws pertaining to the assessment function. Candidates must have the ability to manage a high-volume workload, deal effectively with management, assist internal and external customers as required, and resolve conflicts.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) in a field related to Real Estate Appraisal, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration and four (4) years of progressive assessment and appraisal experience.
Three years of supervisory experience is desired along with a SRA, MAI, RES, MAS, or CAE designation preferred. Must be proficient in employee supervision, selection, work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, and employee training and discipline.
Requires thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of complex real property appraisal for real property tax assessment purposes; applicable laws, codes and regulations; computer applications related to assessment work; standard office administrative practices and procedures; methods and techniques of property ownership research and investigation; record keeping principles and practices; and techniques for dealing with the public.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, County officials, members of the business community and the public is required. Knowledge of Virginia taxation law and county regulations governing the appraisal of commercial, industrial, residential and special purpose properties is necessary.
Ability to work in various outdoor weather conditions, traverse undeveloped land and tour construction sites. Occasional bending, stooping and light lifting may be required.

Job Summary
Loudoun County, Virginia, is seeking applicants for an experienced professional to serve as a Project Manager for the Transportation Capital Projects team, within the Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI). As a Project Manager, you will oversee the design of transportation projects, to include new roads and roadway expansions, intersection improvements, and traffic signals. You will coordinate with other County staff to acquire land and relocate utilities as part of the development for each project. You will be responsible for managing engineering design consultants through the pre-programming, pre-design, project design, plan development, land acquisition, utility relocation, and construction administration phases. You will manage project scopes, budgets, and schedules consistent with the County's Capital Improvement Plan and VDOT project agreements and dashboards.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
*Develop and process transportation design plans in accordance to VDOT design standards and the VDOT Locally Administered Projects Manual, which includes review of layout, drainage, grading, erosion and sediment control, utility, maintenance of traffic, striping and signage, and traffic signal design plans, processing plans to obtain regulatory approvals, oversight of plan production and revisions through all phases of a project.
*Conduct field investigations and oversee environmental, subsurface, and floodplain analyses.
*Obtain permits necessary for project construction.
*Technical consultation reviews.
*Utility coordination, field inspections.
*Prepare presentations and reports and present information at public meetings and before the County's Board of Supervisors.
*Prepare specifications and construction documents.
*Prepare of scopes of work and requests for proposals to procure design services.
*Review drawings and documents to assure compliance with County and VDOT designs and production standards.
*Regularly meet with DTCI and County staff to monitor project status, costs, and schedules and report the status of projects to DTCI management.
*Manage consultant and contractor contracts.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal skills. Project management, estimating, and scheduling skills are essential. This position is eligible for partial telework in accordance with County and Department Policies.
This position is eligible for a $6,000 hiring bonus in accordance with the County's Hiring and Retention Bonus Program.
