Work activities require confidentiality and familiarity with legal and technical terminology. Exercises considerable judgment and discretion in making decisions concerning the interpretation and application of work policies and procedures. Documents and maintains case details, arranges hearing dates, follow up on pending court dates, and maintains the office case filing system. Does related work as required. * Prepare and organize case files * Draft various legal documents and correspondence * Prepare indictments, subpoenas, petitions, court forms, and other related legal material * Utilize a computer case management system * Maintain calendars; schedule appointments and court dates and follow up on pending court cases accurately * Review court records and databases of other agencies to gather necessary information * Greet the public and representatives of other agencies on behalf of the Commonwealth's Attorney * Maintain strict confidentiality in all areas EducationRequired: Education equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level courses in office administration, law or related field. Preferred: Associates Degree; paralegal certification. Experience Required: Considerable progressively responsible experience in administrative and office work. Preferred: Experience in public service especially in legal areas.
