Pros of working at Sportsman's Warehouse

I was able to experience career growth, learn about my products, and become cross trained on multiple aspects. I started out in customer service and ended up as a manager over the camping department which I loved. The environment was unmatched and coworkers were amazing.

Cons of working at Sportsman's Warehouse

We were always understaffed and continually told to cut hours when most of our departments were barely covered if not at all. I was cross trained in every department and sometimes was the only person covering three separate department on top of closing management duties, online orders, and running counters. This caused a proficiency issue especially if we were busy. We also hit supply and demand issues on a consistent basis.

Sportsman's Warehouse Benefits

The company does have a good discount program and access to buy from brands directly which helped me learn more about multiple products. This helped me sell these products as well since I had personal experience with them.

How would you improve Sportsman's Warehouse's culture?

Give more back to your employees and don't forget about your older stores. They still matter even when you're opening three new ones every month.

What do you like best about Sportsman's Warehouse's CEO and the leadership team?

We did work together well.

This was my first real job. I went in being myself.

The compensation I was offered matched the industry average at the time.

The representation of diverse demographics were very good.

Personally it was getting to know our customers and helping them find exactly what they needed to make their outdoor activities more memorable.
