Maria E. Bennett has led SPR Therapeutics since its inception. Prior to the formation of SPR, Maria Bennett served as the VP of Clinical Affairs at NDI Medical, LLC a medical device development company where she played a vital role in the development of a neurostimulation system addressing urinary incontinence, which was acquired by Medtronic in 2008 company for $42 million. Prior to joining NDI, Maria Bennett was a Clinical Project Manager at Boston Scientific, leading a team that conducted a large, multi-center clinical trial demonstrating safety and efficacy of an innovative angioplasty balloon, and achieving a 510(k) clearance for this product. Prior to this, she was the Manager of Clinical Studies and Director of Research and Development at NeuroControl Corp., where she co-developed a neurostimulation treatment for post-stroke shoulder pain. In 2009, she was selected by Springboard Enterprises as one of thirty female entrepreneurs from over 100 applicants to present at its LifeScience Venture Forums. She is the inventor of the Smartpatch™ System, having patents issued and pending. Maria Bennett holds a master's degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's degree from Miami University (OH) in engineering management.

Warren Grill is Chief Scientific Advisor at SPR Therapeutics.Warren Grill serves as SPR Therapeutics' Chief Scientific Advisor and is presently the Addy Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Duke University (Durham, NC) with secondary appointments in Neurobiology and Surgery.Warren Grill received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering with honors from Boston University and a Ph. D. in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH. His research interests are in neural engineering and neural prostheses including design and testing of electrodes and stimulation techniques, the electrical properties of tissues and cells, and computational neuroscience with applications in restoration of bladder function, treatment of movement disorders with deep brain stimulation, and multi-joint limb movement. He has authored 90 peer-reviewed publications, and is an inventor on 9 issued and 5 pending patents. In 2007 he was elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering, in 2008 received the Capers & Marion McDonald Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research at Duke University, and in 2009 was inducted into the Bass Society of Fellows at Duke for excellence in teaching and research. Warren Grill serves as a Consultant to the Neurological Devices Panel of the Medical Devices Advisory Committee, Center for Devices and Radiological Health, U.S. Food and Drug Administration, as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering, on the editorial boards of Brain Stimulation, Journal of Neural Engineering, Neuromodulation, and Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing, and as Sr. Technical Editor for Neurotech Business Report.

John Chae is Chief Medical Advisor at SPR Therapeutics. Dr. Chae serves as SPR Therapeutics’ Chief Medical Advisor and is presently Professor and Vice Chair of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He received his Bachelor of Science ('84) and Masters ('86) in Engineering from Duke University and Dartmouth College, respectively. He received his MD ('90) from New Jersey Medical School and clinical training in PM&R ('94) from New Jersey Medical School and Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. He completed the NIH sponsored Rehabilitation Medicine Scientist Training Program Fellowship ('98) at Case Western Reserve University. He is Director of Stroke Rehabilitation and Director of Research for the Department of PM&R and Associate Director of Clinical Affairs for the Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Center. His research is funded by the NIH and focuses on the application of FES for neuroprostheses, neural plasticity and shoulder dysfunction in hemiplegia. He has received numerous awards, including the 2007 Braddom Research Award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists, which ''recognizes an individual who over the previous decade has…had the most significant impact on the science and practice of rehabilitation medicine.'' Dr. Chae was recently elected to the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and to the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. He also serves on the Advisory Council of NIH-NICHD and the Advisory Board of the National Center for Medical Rehabilitation Research at NIH-NICHD. He serves on the Editorial Boards of Archives of PM&R and Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair.

Marilyn Eisele is Vice President of Finance, CFO at SPR Therapeutics. Ms. Eisele joined the company in 2012. She has served as the CFO to publicly traded, privately held and venture backed companies. During her tenure at Five Star Technologies, Ms. Eisele was the CFO and co-founder of several spin-out businesses developed from a platform proprietary process technology in the fields of advanced materials, fuel technologies and life sciences. While at Five Star, she helped establish the company’s Asian operations to launch Asian product manufacture and international sales. In addition, she was instrumental in positioning the advanced materials company for exit resulting in a several licensing opportunities. Ms. Eisele also served as CFO and a key member of the strategic management team at two venture backed start-ups in the field of information technology. Ms. Eisele has substantial experience in fundraising having led equity financing rounds in excess of $100 million. She was a key member of the executive team that completed a successful IPO of a retail company in NE Ohio and has been involved in over thirty acquisitions. Ms. Eisele began her career at PriceWaterhouse Coopers where she spent fifteen years.

Peter Sean Staats is an American physician, specializing in interventional pain medicine. He is the founder of the Division of Pain Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and was the Division's chief for nearly a decade. He is a past president of the North American Neuromodulation Society. He is the past president of the New Jersey Society of Interventional Pain Medicine.
