Implement indexing, tuning strategies, and partitioning for performance gains. Resolve platform-related issues and participate in incident response. Coordinate with vendors for product-related issues, patches, and bug fixes. Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and business analysts to understand new requirements and recommend high-level direction and approach. Provide support for development, testing, and production environments. Develop scripts for monitoring, maintenance, and automation tasks. Utilize tools like shell scripting, Python, or Perl to automate processes. What We're Looking For: Database Administrator Developer Sr(Grade 8) Education requirements are listed below: Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related Technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience. Work Experience requirement listed below: Six (6) years EMS/SCADA experience with associate's degree or eight (8) years of experience with a high school diploma. Individuals with a bachelor's degree and 4 years of EMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level. In addition to the EMS/SCADA experience noted above, detailed knowledge is required in three other pertinent areas below: Application development Operating System support Computer system administration Database technologies and support**Distribution - can use this job family, need to update language in actual posting to reflect DMS and Distribution and remove EMS and transmission references OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proven experience in installation, configuration, and management of SQL Server (including multiple instances on a single server/VM). Background in utility space, real-time applications, SCADA, and transmission/distribution systems is an added advantage.
