**Job Summary:**

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

**Job Summary:**
The Pathologists' Assistant (PA) acts as a provider of anatomic pathology services and has specialized knowledge which includes describing, dissecting, and submitting samples of human surgical and autopsy specimens for review and diagnosis by a pathologist. The PA-Academic is the main resource for pathology residents' training in the grossing laboratory as well as the autopsy suite. It is also the role of the PA-Academic to continuously interact, assist, and consult with the faculty and staff pathologists to provide support to their roles as diagnosticians.
**Job Responsibilities and Requirements:**
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Educates pathology residents in the grossing laboratory, autopsy suite, and other areas as required.
+ Maintains specimen identification integrity at all times.
+ Performs gross examination and dictation of surgical and autopsy specimens.

The 24/7 Cancer Care Clinic features an outpatient treatment area for patients to come in for scheduled appointments to receive chemotherapy, blood products, IV hydration, central line and port care, phlebotomy, etc. The scheduled infusion space is staffed with staff nurses and patient care technicians. There are also Nurse Practitioners in the Cancer Care Clinic who see patients in a patient care room setting within the clinic for symptom management concerns. This allow Oncology patients from the Siteman Cancer Center to receive care for some urgent needs. These patients are managed by the Nurse Practitioners and cared for the the staff nurses and PCTs. Additionally, when patients need to be admitted to the hospital, the Cancer Care Clinic begins the care for some of these patients who meet specific criteria.

Overview
Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare's newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children's Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.
Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.
Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital's medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
The Therapy Departments provide inpatient services including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Role Purpose
The licensed or registered Occupational Therapist (OT) provides skilled occupational therapy services to patients including all aspects of evaluation and treatment.
Responsibilities
Establishes treatment plan and provides treatment, considering discharge needs; expected discharge functional status; and appropriate equipment and supplies.
Educates, collaborates with, and conferences with patients, families, and other health care providers; making recommendations for referrals to specialists as needed.
Delegates to assistants, techs, and students through written and verbal communication including determining the skill level or competency required to provide interventions to best meet the needs of the patient.
Completes documentation in accordance with departmental policies.
Provides assessment, reassessment, and/or consultations for Occupational Therapy Services.

Manage tax exemption applications, collaborate with SSM Corporate Legal and SSM leaders for proactive resolution of all property matters. Ensures all landlord default claims are resolved within cure period and documents are properly recorded.
Prepare transaction communication tools and packages for internal approval process. Provides support with documentation required to be used during the transaction management process, including new leases, renewals, purchases, sales, subleases, options, etc.
Conduct audits of Year-End Common Area Maintenance (CAM), Insurance, and Real Estate Tax reconciliations. Act as the SSM liaison between Landlords, Tenants, Risk Management, Legal, Environmental Safety, Design and Construction, and other support functions.
Prepare monthly Finance reports for all leases, space use agreements, service agreements, utilities, and parking agreements of all SSM owned or subleased properties.
Manage rent rolls, coordinate tenant billings, rent collection, expense pass-through, and oversee miscellaneous tenant billings. Resolve payment discrepancies by sending out delinquent notices, if necessary, and tenant improvement allowance release letters.
Review invoices in conjunction with lease requirements and ensure back-up documentation is in place and all calculations are correct. Field phone calls and emails regarding general real estate inquiries. Assist in lease administration activities, including tenant contacts and insurance information.
Manage tax exemption applications and collaborates with municipal collectors of revenue to report changes in tax status for SSM owned properties
