Coordinates laboratory technical operations to continuously improve the quality of output by: reviewing all daily work, quality control, quality assurance, troubleshooting, maintenance, writes policies and procedures, manages inventory of all areas and proficiency testing. Performs research and development: doing crossover studies, statistical analysis, method implementation and follow-up studies, etc. Attends quarterly Pathology Department meetings. Attends and participates in Mount Carmel General Lab, Specimen processing, Trinity Lab Counsel, and Mount Carmel Lab director meetings. Reviews proficiency testing, policies, and procedures. Serves as a liaison with the Pathologists, clinical colleagues and laboratory staff. Accepts other responsibilities as assigned. Participates in the evaluation process by providing objective and subjective information on applicable staff members.
