Youth Development: See Schedule O narrative regarding details of memberships and scholarships. Everyone is invited to become a member of the Y. Children can begin their Y-experience in our Kid Zone at 6 weeks of age and continue to grow and develop friendships and life skills through their teen years. Youth build friendships and skills through swim lessons, birthday parties, day camp, youth sports, rock climbing, home school physical-education and being part of a swim team. Memberships are available to families and individual youth. From cradle to career, the Y provides all youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life. Our Youth programming has exploded since our organization moved into a new facility in 2017. In 2019: *3,153 children participated in swimming lessons, *1,608 children participated in Youth Sports & Tae Kwon Do *13,337 children visited our Kid Zone drop-in care center *1,588 children celebrated birthdays with their friends in our facility *1,061 children participated in our Y-Out programs *188 children attended our summer day camp *207 children participated in our Home School Gym program *100 children swam and competed through our youth swim team *355 children were able to play in our facility with their family while supervised for their safety. While participating in each of these programs, children are learning important life lessons and skills that can be transferred to the classroom, workplace and beyond. From the water safety skills taught in swimming lessons, to the teamwork principles learned in sports and the friendship network gained in the Kid Zone and camps, the Y is helping our youth develop into healthy, engaged citizens.St. Cloud Area Family YMCA is a well-established organization.
