They are responsible for efficient and effective operation of the daily activities of the department as directed. They also assist lead technologists with execution of the daily operation of the Diagnostic Imaging department. The Imaging Department at St. Croix Health consists of approximately 40 staff and performs over 50,000 studies a year. Plans for a new campus to begin in 2025 are underway! Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing a variety of sonographic studies in a variety of settings. The Ultrasound Technologist interprets physician instructions, explains ultrasound procedures to patients, changes imaging parameters and selects options while operating ultrasound equipment. Requirements Education & Licensure: Registered by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or registry eligible.     Part-time Description St. Croix Health is currently seeking a casual Polysomnographic Technologist to join our team! This position will work one shift every two weeks and fill in as needed. The Polysomnographic Technologist is responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing, analysis of the testing, and working under the general supervision of the Medical Director. The Technologist performs tests and procedures that test the brain waves and functions on sleep patients to perform studies and determine why they are having trouble sleeping through the night. They will review patient medical history and document their sleep issues, and keep records of patient progress. They will also explain to patients the nature of procedures that will be performed on them and prepare them for the procedures. During studies, equipment may be attached to their bodies and make sure the patient is comfortable before sleeping. This position is responsible for scoring all sleep studies once completed. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Conduct sleep study procedures by following proper procedural protocols and accurately score the completed sleep study. Document routine observations including sleep stages and clinical events, changes in procedure and significant events to facilitate scoring and interpretation of polysomnographic results Perform data acquisition while monitoring study-tracing quality to ensure signals are artifact-free. Identify, correct and document artifacts Implement appropriate interventions (including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention such as positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.) Score sleep/wake stages by applying professionally accepted guidelines Score clinical events (such as respiratory events, cardiac events, limb movements, arousals, etc.) utilizing American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform portable monitoring equipment preparation and data download Perform patient education and instruction appropriate for home sleep apnea testing Demonstrate adherence to cleaning and disinfection procedures Monitor patient safety and adhere to patient safety protocols Demonstrate adherence to AASM scoring parameters; identify artifact, inadequate signals and equipment failures and generate an accurate report 2.
