**SUMMARY OF POSITION:**
The Registered Nurse Educator supports the quality of care provided to patients nursing staff through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning. The Registered Nurse Educator has in-depth nursing knowledge, clinical expertise, and knowledge of adult learning. The RN Educator is responsible for planning, conducting needs assessment and evaluating orientation and staff development programs for nursing and clinical personnel. The RN Educator will assess gaps in knowledge, skills and practice to identify learning needs for assigned unit or population through data collection, formal and informal assessments and stakeholder collaboration.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):**
+ Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required
+ Two (2) years nursing experience
+ Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate NurseLicensure Compact.
+ AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
