This full-time position will collaborate with our team of 6 physicist and 5 dosimetrist team supporting 3 treatment centers treating 110 patients per day. The successful candidate shows initiative and commitment to clinical practice consistent with the ASTRO Accreditation Program for Excellence.
** Hybrid Schedule- 4 days onsite and 1 day remote work schedule with additional flexibility as needed.**
Job Description :
Clinical medical physics to our all-Varian integrated environment that includes 4 TrueBeam, 1 Clinac, 3 CT Simulators, 1 Bravos HDR, ARIA. and Eclipse treatment planning.
Provide technical leadership to our clinics and assist the Chief Medical Physicist in optimizing clinical practice and implementing new programs.
Additionally supports special treatment procedures including frameless stereotactic radiosurgery with AlignRT, SBRT, VMAT, LDR and Radiopharmaceuticals.
Ensure adherence to departmental policy and state and federal requirements.
Qualifications :
The Qualified Medical Physicist as defined by the AAPM with current ABR Therapeutic Medical Physicist certification.
We will consider candidates who have completed Part I of the ABR certification process and are currently board eligible.

The ED Technician functions under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse. The primary responsibility of the ED Technician is to provide basic patient care such as bathing and hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition feeding and hydration, and ambulation and positioning in the emergency room setting. The ED Technician supports patient safety and patient satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds in the emergency room, maintaining emergency department specific competency and effectively communicating with all team members. A nursing assistant certification, EMT certification, or completion of the Fundaments of Nursing course is equal to 6 months of experience.
Six months experience or greater as a ED Technician or EMT preferred. Applicants with no experience must successfully complete the SLHS nursing support training program as a condition of hire to the emergency room.

SUMMARY
The primary goal of a Scribe is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the Physician they are working for. This employee allows the Doctor to focus on what is most important, the patient.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the Physician.
Responsible for the operation of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) of patients.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of examination and procedure codes (ICD-9 codes) when inputting into the EMR system.
Ensure that accurate procedure coding/charges for all procedures/drugs for all patients and correct diagnosis codes are used.
Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate the flow of the clinic.
Open and close exam rooms as needed.
Help with testing and keep rooms filled to maintain flow of the clinic.
Must be discreet, tactful, and modest in performance of the duties so as not to distract medical staff from patient care.
Good judgment, organization ability, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated are especially important.
Must be willing to travel between offices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations.
Efficient in using EMR and ability to accurately record information.
Good typing, spelling, grammar and oral communication skills.
Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple members of the health care team.
Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Must comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when communicating patient information.
Provides excellent patient care and is energetic and empathetic with patients.
Consistently displays positive rapport with fellow employees.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) certification is preferred, but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires a variety of physical activities to effectively perform essential job functions. The position involves frequent walking (75%), sitting (50%), and standing (50%), with regular bending, stooping, and reaching (25-50%). Employees must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 25 lbs. Strong fine motor skills and full use of hands are essential, as the role demands constant grasping, writing/typing, and use of technology. Visual and auditory acuity-including color, depth, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus-is required 100% of the time. Occasional driving or climbing may also be necessary.
