*Employment Type:* Part time *Shift:* Rotating Shift *Description:* The transfer center nurse is responsible for inpatient bed management and working in collaboration with the nursing units, environmental services, the emergency department, the surgery department, the cardiac catheterization lab, registration, and physicians in the assignment of patients to beds in the facility based on their admitting diagnoses, physical and psychosocial conditions including infection status, floor specialization, level of care needed, attending physician, bed availability and severity and needs upon presentation to the facility to assure the patient is placed in the most appropriate bed in a timely manner. The Transfer Center Nurse is responsible for tracking data for the facility in regard to types of admissions, bed placement delays, and other quality indicators as required. The nurse is also responsible for communicating with physicians to ensure patients coming into the facility are placed into the correct status and a status order is on the patient's record. This position will also assure proper identification of principal and secondary diagnosis in collaboration with the treating physician.
**Licensure/Certification/Registration: **Current GA RN license. BLS required - must be obtained within initial 90-days of employment.
**Education:** Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN recommended.
**Experience:** Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in nursing, preferably in an acute care setting.
**Special Qualifications:** Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
**Degree of Supervision Required: ** Indirect and periodic supervision. Must be capable of working independently.

Accurately assesses psychosocial situations at the appropriate level and develops a treatment plan consistent with identified needs. Implements safe discharge/treatment plans in a timely manner to prevent avoidable inpatient stays. Explores options with patient/family and appropriately assists in the decision-making process. Communicates discharge planning activities with interdisciplinary team daily through the maintenance of concurrent documentation and/or verbal report. Demonstrates a current working knowledge of community resources, eligibility criteria and referral processes. Refers cases to home health, hospice, skilled nursing care facilities, DME companies, and other OP services and provides concurrent information as required. Assures response to and documentation of received referrals/consultation within 24 working hours. Knows a variety of social theories and is skilled at applying them in clinical practice setting based on accurate assessment of patient needs. Demonstrates self-awareness as it relates to theory and practice; successfully overcomes personal biases to objectively provide services. Supports patients/families/staff without colluding with dysfunctional behaviors. Is a patient advocate. Effectively organizes and sets priorities on assignment caseload. PAR I

PAR II
Performs PAR I role & is cross trained & performs activities in Pre-Service, Emergency Department & / or Bed Desk. Additional minimum qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years hospital registration or insurance verification experience upon hire. Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic coding & procedural coding required. Ability to explain insurance benefits.
Patient Access Account Specialist
Additional minimum qualification of two plus (2+) years hospital registration or insurance verification experience.
Uses specialized knowledge to support key areas of the organization related to an area of expertise. Uses data, research analysis, critical thinking & problem-solving skills to support colleagues & leadership in achieving organization's strategic objectives. Serves as a peer influencer & may direct a project or project team by applying industry experience & specialized knowledge. Responsible for analyzing, processing & editing for correctness based on payer guidelines. Resolves items & ensures claims are billed accurately. Processes payments timely.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one (1) year of hire.
Additional Qualifications (nice to have)
Medical terminology required & knowledge of diagnostic & procedural coding
Insurance verification with the ability to explain benefits, secure necessary authorizations

*Employment Type:* Part time *Shift:* Night Shift *Description:* The St. Mary's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides a individualized, compassionate healing environment by caring for patients ranging from critically ill premature infants to full-term infants with minor illnesses.
*What you will do: *
* Our highly trained team attends every C-Section and high-risk delivery and commonly treats respiratory distress, sepsis (overwhelming infections), hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) and complications of prematurity. The expert care provided by St. Mary's NICU allows families to keep their babies close by and in the same building as the Family Birth Center.
* Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
* RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
* The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
* The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
* Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia.
* Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
