The ICU is a 16-bed unit moving into a 20 bed unit which serves patients who are critically ill. The patients can be either medical or surgical in various stages of recuperation from diagnostic, therapeutic or surgical interventions. The highest volume of patients includes those that are recovering from high-risk surgery, pulmonary disease, neurological disorders, renal disease, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, or cardiovascular disease. Multiple medical/surgical units serve as step-down facilities due to the excellent telemetry and ventilator management capabilities of their staff.
We are a cohesive team of Critical Care Nurses, Mid-Level Providers, and Pulmonary Intensivists. The ICU functions as an interdisciplinary unit, the input from each team member is heard and considered. We work with a wide range of facilities all over the state, including large hospitals that simply need backup coverage or training, to rural hospitals with no existing SAFE program at all. RN II (TeleSAFE) serve in an on-call capacity. When hospital partners call us, they may be seeking answers to basic questions, partnership in completing an exam, or seeking a SAFE to fully manage a case remotely. This position is expected to be able to provide compassionate, clinically competent, and prompt service to hospitals when they seek support.

*Principal Responsibilities:*

* Sexual assault forensic examiners serve in an on-call capacity. When our hospital partners call us, they may be seeking answers to basic questions, training support, partnership in completing an exam, or seeking a SAFE to fully manage a case remotely. This position is expected to be able to provide compassionate, clinically competent, and prompt service to hospitals when they seek support.
* Take a minimum of two 12-hour weekday shifts per month and one 12-hour weekend shift per month, for 36 hours total per month. Weekend shifts are Friday at 7:00pm to Monday at 7:00am. Nurse examiners will be on-call at least one Holiday per calendar year.
* Follow all company, state, and federal policies, procedures and protocols for sexual assault exams, including the National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations Adults/Adolescents.
* Participate in ongoing quality improvement and evaluation processes with the TeleSAFE team.
* Maintain contact information for at least three years after contract ends for any reason, in order to facilitate testimony or other case follow up that may be legally required.
* Collaborative meetings and professional development.
* Complete a multidisciplinary clinical/operational/technical training with SPHP and complete any necessary onboarding and/or continuing education required by SPHP.
* Complete 5 hours of continuing education annually on sexual assault and forensic examination best practices.

* Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA at all times. Maintain a HIPAA-compliant and quiet environment to use while seeing patients.

* Comfort with technology and telehealth generally. Our digital colposcope is very easy to use but it is important that nurses feel competent and confident delivering care remotely. Extensive training is provided.

*What you will do:*
The Cardiac Surgery Unit is an eight bed critical care that serves the patients who have undergone cardiac/vascular surgery. The area serves the immediate post-operative patient and cardiac /vascular surgery patients requiring continuous critical care interventions.
*Responsibilities:*
* Nurses working in this areal provide monitoring and care of patients with potentially severe physiological instability requiring technical and /or artificial life support.
* Patient care needs can cover a range from simple medications and treatments to the complex intensive monitoring of unstable patients.
* Intensive monitoring may include ventilator support, continuous vasoactive medication infusions, and ventricular assist devices.
* Nurses in this area, have the support of regional critical care courses, on site ACLS classes and comprehensive orientation developed by clinical nurse specialists in cardiac critical care nursing.

*What you will need:*
* A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
* ASN required, BSN preferred
* ACLS certification preferred
* Minimum of 1 year of RN experience is required. CVICU/Critical Care experience preferred
* Registered Nurses must possess the ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene and evaluate patient care
* The RN must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and written
*Pay Range:* $35.00 - $49.95
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

*What you will do:*
The *Registered Professional Nurse* has the responsibility and accountability to utilize the nursing process to diagnose and treat human responses to actual or potential problems of individuals or groups. The Registered Professional Nurse works within and contributes to an environment where the St. Peter's Healthcare Services mission is actualized, patient outcomes are achieved, and professional practice is realized.
*Responsibilities:*
* Brings patient to exam room, takes appropriate vital signs and documents in electronic medical record.
* Review and update medication list to ensure accurate and complete list in electronic medical record (EMR) available for provider review and submission.
* Complete referrals and tracks patients' compliance.
* Review prescriptions electronically and send prescriptions to providers for review and submission.
* Obtains patient consent for procedures as directed by provider.
* Performs pre-visit planning and reviews quality metrics.
* Retrieves telephonic clinical information from patients who call into the office.
* Monitors task list and completes tasks assigned by provider in a timely manner based on urgency.
* Educates patients regarding medication, testing procedures and home care techniques.
* Ensure proper labeling, handling and documentation for patient specimens.
* Follow up with patient regarding test results based on advice given by provider.
* Maintains a clean and safe work environment including disinfecting patient care areas and equipment.
* In conjunction with other nursing colleagues, maintains the medical supply cabinet and drug cabinet.
* Uses the electronic medical record to communicate effectively.
* Performs quality assurance duties as assigned.
* Provides a clinical visit summary (Patient Plan) to patient as requested including educational materials.
* Participates in daily Patient Care huddles as appropriate.
* Works cooperatively with all colleagues to ensure quality patient care at all times.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
*What you will need:*
* Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
* HS Diploma/equivalent required
* Current unencumbered NYS RN license
* Basic Life Support certification
* 6 months previous RN experience
* Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
*Pay Range: $30.00 - $43.50 *
