    Ultrasound The Registered Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem will: * Perform ultrasound procedures following the SPUH ultrasound scanning protocol appropriate to the ages of the patients. * Prepare patient for ultrasound procedure- this includes proper clothing, educating patient and family - if pediatric patient ease fears. * Assist Radiologist to obtain a diagnosis. * Determine when a patient should be held until their physician is contacted with results of the procedure. * Accurately record a complete technologist 'note' to include all pertinent information concerning the exam/procedure. Requirements: * Graduate from approved school of medical ultrasound technology. * RDMS required. * Requires communication skills sufficient for effective communication with patients, physicians and staff. * BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association. Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test. Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
