    Joseph & Mary's Home a ministry of the Sisters of Charity Health System is recruiting for PRN Resident Support Associates. The Resident Support Associate (RSA) is part of the team responsible for maintaining a safe, clean environment conducive to the health and well-being of residents and staff. The RSA is also responsible for providing trauma informed support and coaching to the residents related to the objectives of their integrated health and stable housing plan. The RSA performs the job responsibilities detailed below in accordance with program quality standards, policies and procedures of Joseph & Mary's Home. The RSA reports to the RN Supervisor. Job Responsibilities * Completes Basic Life Support, Trauma Informed Care, Cultural Competency, and Housing First trainings (core competencies) within 60 days of job start. * Informed by core competencies, supports and coaches residents to attain their integrated health and permanent housing plan goals. * Maintains confidentiality, follows HIPAA and respects residents' personal property. * Assists residents with self-care tasks as needed. * Supports residents in taking medications as prescribed by the clinical care team. * Communicates progress towards treatment and housing goals to the treatment team through required documentation in a timely and thorough manner. * Alerts treatment team and supervisors of any emergencies or serious changes in the health and well-being of residents. * Accurately completes all documentation during shift, including but not limited to food temperature logs, shift report, resident wellness checks, and incident reports. * Assist with weekly orders for residents meals with contracted meal service. * Warms and serves meals for residents and visiting alumni. * Performs housekeeping /maintenance responsibilities to ensure cleanliness and safety of building and sees that all equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving shift. * Maintains an active presence within the facility at all times, circulating the building and interacting appropriately with other staff, residents, alumni or visitors. * Must remain awake and alert during shift to respond to the needs of people in the building. * Assures that established infection control and universal infection precaution practices are followed when performing housekeeping/maintenance procedures. * Reports all unsafe or hazardous conditions or equipment immediately to the supervisors through the Agency designated forms, documentation, and protocols. * Follows established fire and safety protocols; completes all drills in a timely manner as directed, including documenting the events. * Accurately completes all InSync and paper documentation during shift, including but not limited to food temperature logs, emergency drills, shift reports, incident reports, resident wellness checks. * Assists with intake of new residents; includes reviewing resident handbook, and how to use laundry appliances. * Responsible for inspecting all patient belongings during intake process with purpose of stopping any prohibited contraband from entering Joseph &Mary's Homes. * In charge of making sure new residents' clothing is processed in 'bug zapper' appliance. * Performs all other duties as assigned. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Work schedules may vary, including evening and night shifts; must work assigned schedule and be available as requested. * Must attend all required training courses and achieve competencies required by the position. * Identifies, organizes, and responds to Supervisor(s) prioritization of work tasks. * Utilizes time to complete responsibilities; if unable to complete tasks, communicates with Supervisor as to the unfinished work and the reason(s) why. * Communicate with all staff, residents, alumni, volunteers and visitors in a polite and respectful manner that is consistent with the Mission and the Values of Joseph & Mary's Home and the Sisters of Charity Health System. * Expresses care, compassion and empathy when interacting with others. * Maintains appropriate and professional boundaries with colleagues, residents and alumni. * Receives verbal report from previous shift and reads written shift report within 30 minutes of arrival, noting pertinent information from the previous shift. * Communicates clearly when explaining responsibilities to others. * Shares ideas, concerns, and information in an appropriate manner. * Participates in team staff meetings collaboratively and appropriately. * Demonstrates effective oral and written skills. * Works to de-escalate conflict and complete required documentation related to any incidents. Minimum Qualifications * Must be 18 years of age or older. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Basic understanding of trauma or willingness to learn. * Must have experience working within a model of trauma-informed care or a desire to do so. * Must be committed to the following principles: diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging * Motivated and energetic self-starter who is compassionate, reliable, and responsible. * Previous experience working with people experiencing homelessness and behavioral health issues, including mental health and/or substance abuse challenges. * Physical requirements: ability to move up to 50lbs. What You Will Do: * Function as a full-participating Sleep Lab Technologist by routinely performing polysomnographic studies. * Scores polysomnographic studies. RST, RPSGT CPSGT, or RRT-SDS can score studies independently. Unregistered sleep technologists and respiratory therapists may score studies under the supervision of one of the above. * Performs and scores Multiple Sleep Latency Testing (MSLT). * Performs equipment troubleshooting and corrects technical problems as they arise. * Participates in ongoing department education and inservices. * Coordinates patient education programs including an ongoing patient support group. * Assists in the orientation and training of new employees in the Sleep Lab. * Participates in ongoing department education and inservices. Instruct and provide clinical guidance to students assigned to the department when appropriate. * Schedules patient appointments and reviews medical information with patients as necessary. * Performs technical duties related to the provision of clinical services of patients. * Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. * Regularly demonstrates the ability to serve patients of all ages in the routine performance of duties. Page 2 of 5 * Participate in individual continuous education activities related to polysomnography during times of low census and/or during non-productive hours. * Ensure adherence to department policies and procedures to maintain safety standards. * Promote safety standards in the work environment. * Communicate to the Assistant Director of Cardiac & Pulmonary Services all activities that positively or negatively affect the quality of services provided. * Participate in formulating plans to resolve intra- or inter-department concerns. * Participate in the development of departmental goals and objectives What You Will Need: * Must be a registered Polysomnographic Technologist or Respiratory Therapist registered through one of the following organizations: * American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) * National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) * Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) * Proven good work attendance record. * Ability to read and write small letters and numbers and effectively communicate in both written and oral forms. * Ability to do a moderate amount of bending, walking, stooping. Ability to sit and observe monitor for long periods of time.
