Winner of 2016 IMAGE Magazine Management Professional Businesswoman of the Year Award

On the 21st November, Kay Connolly, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of St. Vincent’s University Hospital (SVUH) was awarded the prestigious Management Professional of the Year Award at the IMAGE Business Woman of the year Awards 2016. Over 400 nominations were received for the 10th anniversary of the awards with just one in four nominations being shortlisted. Kay was the only public sector nominee and winner at the awards, competing with corporate enterprises.

With 32 years’ industry experience, Kay Connolly has received multiple promotions since joining St Vincent’s University Hospital - nurse, nurse manager, Assistant director of nursing, and director of unscheduled care, culminating in her current role as chief operating officer. Kay is known for driving change and quality improvements, which maintain the high quality service offered to St Vincent’s Hospital patients. She provides leadership, management and clinical expertise to ensure the efficient running of one of Ireland’s largest acute level 4 hospitals with a staff complement of over 2,500. Kay works alongside the CEO and senior management in implementing the hospital’s strategic objectives. She is the first female appointment to this level within the management structure in 15 years.

Erica Wehrmeister is a President of the Central Region at St.Vincent Indianapolis and Chief Operating Officer at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and is based in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has worked as Chief Operating Officer at Dupont Hospital, Clinic Co-Ordinator at Ortho Northeast One, and Exec VP/COO at Lutheran Medical Center. Erica attended Ball State University between 2007 and 2009, Purdue University between 1996 and 2000, and Indiana Institute of Technology between 2009 and 2011.

Rachel Anglin is a Chief I Respiratory Physiologist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and is based in Irlanda. She has worked as Senior Respiratory Physiologist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center and Respiratory Physiologist at Midland Regional Hospital. Rachel studied at Technological University Dublin between 2002 and 2006.
