What this position entails:

Wood stackers are responsible for not only stacking material as it comes out of the machines, but they are also the first line of defense to detect quality defects. This position will work hand in hand with the operator to ensure quality product is being prepared for the customer. From feeding the machine to wrapping the final product you can be a proud employee of ensuring a great customer focus in the material.

- Work as a safe team with operator to provide quality product to our customers

- Teams usually include one operator and two stackers

- Operating hand saws, banders, basic machinery.

- Using a tape measure to appropriately stack lumber according to lengths, widths, and size.

- Practicing good housekeeping by sweeping, dusting, and cleaning work area.

- Responsible for evaluating lumber for defects and trimming those defects out if necessary.

- Patching any defects with putty, sander, or paint

- Wrapping and tagging units to prepare it for customer.

- Running the Hog (woodchipper) to process rejected material

- Work with operator to feed machine with material

You will do well in this position if you:

- Possesses mechanical aptitude, or previous manufacturing experience.

- Understand computers, especially SAP

- Understand how to read a tape measure

- Can perform basic calculator equations. (Adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing).

- Understand and know how to use digital calipers

- Applicants must be able to stand up to 12 hours a day and consistently lift 30 - 40 pounds.

- Work well in a team setting

Overwrap Stacker FULL-TIME
$20.95/hr, plus $1500 new hire bonus, see details below
$16.95 starting pay with $4/hour Perfect Attendance Incentive. Each week, if you work every day that you're scheduled for your full shift, you'll receive $4 more an hour for each hour you work.
SUMMARY: Employee graves wrapped trays from the machine and put them in baskets
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: including the following. Other duties may be assigned. While performing this duty employee graves wrapped trays coming from the machine visually inspect them and stack in baskets, improperly seal, broken trays or holes in the film must be removed and put back in the rewrap basket.

Summary (Scope of the Job)
Operates stacker controls to ensure stacks are aligned and orderly. Prepares stacked units for banding, operates palletizing machinery and ensures quality of product. Performs all duties in a safe manner, while wearing all required PPE and immediately reports any safety concern to the supervisor.

Major Responsibilities
Visually inspects each unit for defects (bad knifes, wrinkles, warp, out of line, proper pad placement, loose liner, unit appearance, etc.).Units found to be defective must have defective material removed.Informs knife man of the amount of defective board so the amount can be rescheduled to run. Measures at least one sheet from each order for length, width, and scoring accuracy. Issues regarding quality are to be brought immediately to the knife man or supervisor's attention.Reads production orders to ensure all special instructions are being fulfilled (units with specific height requirements, or that require exact quantities per unit, full pad protection, cross-banded, etc.).Monitors alignment of board and manipulates controls to ensure proper alignment of stacks.Understands and utilizes proper procedures for knife exit section controls and lift positioning controls. Places tie sheets in multiple stacks, inserts proper pads or cross-pads to units when necessary.Operates the palletizing machinery and inspects units to ensure plastic bands are applied securely to each bale prior to shipment. Communicates any special situations to the individual who is relieving them.Responsible for keeping area and equipment clean of any debris or scrap material.Attends all safety training provided by the employer.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; or up to one month related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.Ability to read a tape measure to within 1/16th of an inch.
