We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Review Appraiser to serve as the agency's subject matter expert for appraisal reviews related to right-of-way acquisitions, easements, and partial takings. This position will ensure appraisal products comply with Federal standards, USPAP, and the Uniform Appraisal Standards for Federal Land Acquisitions (UASFLA).
The ideal candidate will hold the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and a Certified General Real Property Appraiser license, with demonstrated experience reviewing complex appraisal assignments for federally funded infrastructure projects. In addition, the candidate will hold a Certified General Appraiser license from the Texas Appraiser Licensing Certification Board (TALCB) following standards set by the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
The agency's increasing workload in right of way acquisition and federally funded infrastructure projects requires a senior-level review appraiser with the highest professional credentials. The MAI designation is critical to ensuring appraisal credibility, compliance, and defensibility in eminent domain cases and project funding approvals. This position will reduce risk of litigation, increase efficiency in acquisition processes, and provide expert oversight of appraisal contractors.
Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and approve appraisals for right of way projects, corridor acquisitions, easements, and eminent domain proceedings.
Ensure technical compliance with UASFLA, USPAP, and Federal regulations.
Provide written appraisal reviews and recommendations to leadership.
Serve as a resource and advisor to project managers, attorneys, and acquisition specialists regarding valuation methodology.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior appraisers and acquisition staff.
Represent the agency as an expert witness in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
Develop and maintain internal guidance, policies, and training related to appraisal and review processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
MAI designation (Appraisal Institute).
Certified General Appraiser license from the Texas Appraiser Licensing Certification Board (TALCB) following standards set by the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
Bachelor's degree or higher in real estate, finance, economics, business, or related field.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressively responsible real estate appraisal experience in Texas, with at least 3 years in review appraisal for right of way projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of UASFLA (Yellow Book), USPAP, and eminent domain appraisal practices.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare review reports and provide expert testimony.
Preferred Qualifications
Federal or State agency experience with right of way acquisition programs.
Experience coordinating with legal counsel, engineers, and acquisition specialists.
Knowledge of federal land acquisition regulations and relocation assistance programs.
Prior service as a review appraiser for corridor or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Target salary range: $100k - 140k

What You'll Do
Conducts an unbiased and impartial valuation of residential real estate by analyzing market and property specific data, and completes appraisal reports in accordance with USPAP, government, company, regulatory board, and client specific guidelines.

About the job:
The Claims Field Consultant ensures client satisfaction and retention through quality service and proactive consultation. This position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers' claims organizations, within an assigned client base.
You'll Be Responsible For:
Developing relationships with claims offices in assigned customers and serve as a key point of contact for those claims offices to address service needs.
Working closely with Vertical Account Managers, who own the overall client relationship, on building client-specific service plans that ultimately will drive revenue growth.
Analyzing industry trends, competitive threats and client-specific product usage trends, using this information to work with the Vertical Account Managers on developing strategies focused on client retention and revenue growth.
Analyzing customers' current product usage to identify areas of opportunity, as well as to make user training recommendations.
Through interaction with claims offices, develop an understanding of processes and workflows at each office so you can better identify LexisNexis Risk products that may provide value to the client. Also identify competitors that clients may be using and report that competitive intelligence back to LexisNexis Risk.
Troubleshooting product/service-related concerns clients may have, and coordinate resolution through internal LexisNexis Risk business partners.
Preparing and delivering LexisNexis Risk product training to claims offices in person and via webinars, to both large and small groups as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
5+ years prior auto claims experience; preferably having experience in a leadership and/or training-related role. Candidates with an insurance consulting or account management background will also be considered.
Claims-related professional designations, such as AIC, ARM, CPCU, SCLA, CCLA, etc., strongly preferred
Strong organizational and project management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking in front of groups and creating training material
Strong customer relationship management experience
Demonstrated expertise with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) Strong understanding of how to use Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables to analyze data.
Travel required up to 25%.
