Burns & McDonnell is actively recruiting Senior Architects with 8 years of experience to help shape our Mission Critical / Commercial / Higher Ed Studio in our well established Chicago office\. Responsibilities:

+ Provide project team leadership and coordination for finished plans, specification, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation\.

+ Mentor and lead teams in the production of accurate technical and contract documentation for project construction\.

+ Mentor and lead construction administration duties including; bid review and support, site visits, address technical issues, and improve quality during construction\.

+ Work with government and regulatory agencies to achieve overall project schedule and objectives\.

+ Manage, mentor and recruit talent including resources to produce 3D software renderings and critical presentations\.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in architecture from accredited program\.

+ Minimum 4 years related experience \(completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience\)\.

+ Excellent written & verbal communication skills\.

+ Strong analytical and problem solving skills\.

+ This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments\.

+ Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered\.

+ Previous consulting experience preferred\.

+ Proficient in Autocad & Microstation\.

+ Demonstrated progress toward becoming a Registered Architect\.

**Compensation Range**

$75,000\-$100,000

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Connecticut Public Act 21\-30, An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for Vacant Positions\. The final agreed upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location\. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year\-end incentive bonus program\.

The Opportunity

This Staff Cybersecurity Architect position is based in Sylmar, CA location. Staff Cybersecurity Architect will improve the security posture of Abbott Cardiac Rhythm Management products and product development infrastructure, through threat modeling, cybersecurity design and implementation, risk assessment and process improvement activities. Performs complex and specialized cybersecurity activities working within and across project teams, and in consultation with other cross functional team members.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

* Optimize product/system security by creating and reviewing software architecture and detailed design solutions that reflect best practices.

* Identify and implement software improvements needed to effectively protect against and respond to known and emerging security threats.

* Perform threat modeling of complex system of systems and provide mitigatory strategies for reducing cybersecurity risk

* Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate interrelated security solutions and assure project completion.

* Write cybersecurity requirements, design and risk management documentation

* Perform vulnerability management, vulnerability intake, and be able to understand and report on emerging cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities to a cross-functional team

* Interact with regulatory authorities and auditors, write technical explanations of cybersecurity features and controls for regulatory submissions

* This is a non-supervisory position.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree (± 16 years) Software Engineering, Computer Science or related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Minimum 8 years:

* Security design for cloud and/or mobile and/or embedded systems/IOT with strong knowledge of cryptographic primitives

* Experience in health care, aerospace, defense (DoD, NSA etc.) or other regulated sectors (Optional)

Preferred

* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

* As an alternative to CISSP, other professional security certification such as CISM, CSA, CEH or similar.

Role description:

As a Staff Architect, you will work directly with the Places Design and Engineering team and be responsible for the development of deliverables across the entire spectrum of base bid design services, including programming, concept design, schematic design, detailed design, permitting, construction documents and construction administration services. Work in these design phases would be across a variety of construction project types (for both Private and Governmental clients), doing light and heavy Industrial Market Sector work such as, but not limited to, Automotive, Food & Beverage, Life Science, Oil & Gas, Chemical, and Conglomerates.

Role accountabilities:

* Working with Project Manager and other Engineering Disciplines to prepare design presentations and produce documents.
* Coordinating with other discipline leads including (CIVL, STRU, MECH, ELEC, PLMB, FLS, WWTR, etc.) to provide an Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
* Developing designs in coordination with client's requirements, specifications, and goals.
* Communicating design ideas through the use of sketches, and computer design tools such as REVIT/
* Generating technical drawings and technical specifications such as floor plans, sections, elevations, detail, and schedules to convey design intent and criteria.
* Facility Code Analysis and Life safety Analysis
* Development of Quantity takeoffs, of facility components, for Arcadis Cost Estimates to provide pricing and cost estimates
* Assisting the project team during the construction phase by reviewing RFIs, shop drawings submitted material samples.
* Programming, Master Planning, Concept Design, SD, DD, & CD design activities (depending on a projects design phase)
* Ability to travel with overnight stays, periodically (approx. 25% a year) within North America

Qualifications & Experience:

Key Skills & Experiences:

* Experience preparing/developing technical documents.
* Proficiency in Drawing and Modelling Software Applications:
* Specifically: REVIT & AutoCAD
* Additional skill set in these software platforms is a plus: UNIFI, SpecLINK, and e-SPEC

* Experience in development and willingness to support BIM standards and SOPs.
* Experience in BIM modeling and Architectural Documentation
* Experience with industrial and commercial facilities design and construction
* Permitting and AHJ Plans Examination Experience.
* Experience with Maximum Allowable Quantity (MAQ) Analysis
* Proficient in component detailing including interior fit & finishes, doors & door hardware, building envelope, & roofing. Etc.)

Required Qualifications:

* A Bachelor of Architecture degree from an accredited school.
* 5 or more years of facility design experience in a professional company setting where Architectural/Engineering design services were performed and billed.
* Current Registered Architect Licensure in any State of Canadian Province

Preferred Qualifications:

* An NCARB record on file or a completion certificate of the IDP Program
* Licensed Registered Architect (RA) or currently pursuing their professional licensure
* LEED AP or BREEAM Certified.
