Holaday-Parks' Project Engineers support the successful execution of Design Build and Plan Spec projects from inception to project close out. Project Administrators represent our organization to our customers, other contractors, our employees and our community in a professional manner. They are efficient and highly organized.
Essential Functions:
Maintain Project Records during all phases of work.
Assemble and distribute submittals and O&M's.
Create and maintain RFI, CO, ASI and drawing logs.
Track Daily Reports.
Follow up to ensure RFI's are priced and responded to timely.
Ensure punch list items are addressed.
Estimating Support:
Support estimating efforts as requested by Estimators.
Estimating support may include counting fixtures, obtaining quotes from subcontractors and equipment suppliers, and preparing final bids for submission to the customer.
Field Support:
Project Engineers may be located in the main office or on the job site.
When stationed on the job site, the Project Engineer will be responsible for maintaining drawings by incorporating changes and ensuring the correct information is distributed to the field staff.
Tracking documentation as described above may be performed in the office or on site.
Project Engineers support multiple projects when required.
Career Path:
The Project Engineer position is an entry level position in the Construction Industry. Experienced Project Engineers may have the opportunity to move into Project Manager roles as openings come available.
Qualifications and Education:

This role plays an advisory role to Project Management for contractual, legal, and other project issues.

Responsibilities
Field Engineering:
* Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision
* Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of completed/installed materials and work
* Assist in the preparation of work plans and work packages
* Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation, control points, and compilation of as-built data
* Assist in compiling, processing, and confirming daily labor timesheets
* Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA's)
* Participate in jobsite safety reviews, toolbox meetings, mass safety meetings, and safety training
* Order and schedule material deliveries
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite
* Supervise field operations
Office Engineering:
* Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documents
* Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations
* Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittal or transmittal to the customer, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use
* Assist in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts, performing minor solicitations and purchasing as requested
* Assist in schedule maintenance and performing updates as directed by others
* Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandums
* Assist with entering data into the job cost system and participate in reviewing cost reports with jobsite management
* Assist in generating change orders and as-built data to be reviewed by the Project Manager
* Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
Estimating:
* Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
* Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Estimator
* Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related

T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Under general supervision of the Program Management Team, performs a variety of office and field engineering assignments related to self-performed or subcontracted design-build infrastructure projects including buildings, communications towers and FAA infrastructure. The project engineer at this level regularly engages in problem analysis and exercises discretion and independent judgment in selecting and applying engineering theories and general industry practices. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs various office engineering assignments involving the monitoring and technical evaluation of work in progress on a field construction site.
Establishes and maintains liaison with design engineeringstaff.
Reviews and interprets design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and feasibility to perform technical execution of work.
